Get your wife her own shoes. She will learn to love the bike. It was me who brought it home, but I bought the family package. Kids use the shoes I got my wife. They all love riding.
I have started the Winter Challenge in Power Zone. I am sure this will kick my arse.
Good to see a few others are in this. Good luck and have fun.

I think adjusting it is going to be the biggest thing for her. She is 5' and I am 5'9" so everything needs to change each time. Whats your SN on there Rocky?

Had the bike for about a month now. As far as convenience it can’t be beat, however I wish there was more movement on the bike.
Tapbacks, around the world pushups, crunches...I realize I’m not in a studio anymore but I feel like the instructors have never taken a spin class in a large metro area because every instructor I’ve taken has incorporated a ton of core work in their classes,

I have never took a spin class before. They incorporate core into the actual ride instead of putting it into its own workout like they do? There is a ton of core workouts on the floor section. I am personally glad they don’t make you get off the bike mid ride.

Which rides are you taking?
I’ve read on reddit that Groove/Rhythm rides with Cody Rigsby, Emma Lovewell, and Hannah Corbin incorporate all of those. They’ve also mentioned Alex does tapbacks, too.
I’ve taken mostly HIIT rides with Alex and Denis, and I haven’t really seen anything of that stuff in those rides. I’ve never taken spin classes, so not anything I miss.
Most of the instructors were poached from other spin studios. Alex was at Flywheel, Denis was at Soulcycle and then Zyn22 in DFW.

I just started one of the programs they have available. Finally gonna try out Matt's PowerZone program. I do like the idea that PowerZone training can be customized to MY fitness level.

Im about to start powerzone as well.
I did sweat and steady the other day - really kicked my arse

Yep...if you find a good studio (not cyclebar or soul cycle) you’ll be spent leaving that studio after a 45 minute class from the amount of movement you do on the bike.

Alex Toussaint mostly because of his music...every once in a while he’ll do tap backs or 2 up/2 back...but that’s pretty easy and only one song out of the ride.

I only ride with Alex

I personally think "strength movements" on the bike are stupid.
Just hit me with some sprint intervals. I can do pushups on the ground and get more out of it than "bike pushups".
But to each their own.

I really need to try the power zone thing. I have pigeonholed myself into trying to catch live rides that interest me. Personality of the instructors has really been a big thing for me. Robin Arzon, Jess King and Jennifer Jacobs seem to be the ones that interest me the most. The football pregame rides have been the longest rides I have done but enjoyed them.
Need to get over wanting the perky women on rides and try some of the power zone type stuff.

I like it so far. It really does customize the ride to YOUR fitness level. Matt will tell you the cadence range you need to be in and what powerzone you should be at. You determine the resistance needed to get to that zone.
I will warn you though....take a rest day before you do the FTP test to determine your power zone. You do a 10 min warmup and then a 20 min test.
It will be the hardest 20 min you have done on the bike.
I didn't take a rest day the day before I took the FTP test and I know my zones would have been a little higher. I'll retest in 4 weeks and hopefully my zones will be higher.

I am the type that wants to max out the customization of my new toy which included power zone. Bad mistake. I was not ready for that but wanted the little graph on my screen so I did it.
I oddly end up around my power zone number on most rides, but know if I flat out pushed for 20 mins it would be higher.
Gonna redo it sometime I feel like getting my arse kicked again.

Ohhh I keep hearing about the ride on one of my Peloton fb groups.
Cody’s themed rides are a lot of fun, I’ll have to try the maroon 5 one. He did a Christina Aguilera one that was a lot of fun.

It’s odd, it wasn’t on the schedule early this morning.

Anyone else try out the new yoga classes they started offering? I did one the other day and it was much more difficult that I expected
