I fast from about 7 every night to 6 every morning. I think that counts.

because despite what many people say, when you start having multiple 24 hour + fast in a week you will start losing some muscle.

For me i did an experiment where I did a scan, then did 3 weeks with 1 24 hour fast and then a 60 hour fast every one of those weeks. I lost about 3 lbs of dry lean mass in those three weeks.

not i know how to gain that back pretty quickly but that shite takes a lot of work to put back on and overall it set back my cut.

i would have been much better off just doing a 500 calorie deficit with lots of protein. or if i really wanted to speed things up, go on a protein sparing modified fast where i you would eat around 12-1400 calories but getting 250g protein.

overall though if you want to stay within 5 lbs, set a couple non negotiables

here are the non negotiables i usually give to people, these would be for my busiest clients.....

1) 2 metric driven progressively overload strength sessions per week

2) 55k steps per week.

3) Eat your bodyweight in grams of protein per day from whole foods

4) 2000ish calories per day

5) weigh yourself daily and track 2 week rolling average

what that usually ends up as is this for family guys with business types jobs-

11- meal 1 (usually lunch with clients)
3- meal 2
6- dinner with family

doesnt have to be that schedule, just keep it simple. but for most guys that gets them pretty close. they try and hold first meal to around 500 calories or so. the meal 2 is usually a small snack and keep it around 250 caloires. usually ends up as a protein shake

this allows them to have somewhere around 1000-1200 calories with dinner.

they dont worry abotu specific windows, they dont worry about perfect pre and post workout

they dont go running for miles on end etc

they play with their kids to get extra steps in or go for a walk with the wife or as a family.

KEEP IT SIMPLE!!!

That’s pretty much what I have done since February and I’ve maintained 190ish pretty easy after cutting from 230 to 185. I lift 4-5x a week in PPSA and get l 10-15k steps per day. Breakfast is oatmeal with 2 scoops vanilla whey iso powder and a cup of berries (500 cals), late lunch is whatever before I lift (sandwich/tacos/leftovers from dinner) around 5-700 cals high protein and carbs, and then dinner is usually meat off the grill and side vegetables. If I’m short in calories I’ll have yogurt plus protein powder or street tacos from grilled meat in fridge or similar.

Still drink beer (tho limit to 2-3 and not every day). I have gained a couple lbs over football season due to junk food during games plus wanting to eat enough during Squatober, but I know how to cut it off after Squatober is done.
