If it’s working I’d continue getting it serviced twice a year - I wouldn’t change it until it fails

Some of those older units will outlast the new ones.
I know from experience.

Just had a 4 ton 14 SEER unit and new system put in last week here in BR. 1900 sq ft home for $8500… that was after 2 different companies quoted me $14,000+

Mind sharing who you used in BR?

Dunno if it matters but I've been using comfort control heating an air for almost 20 years. Have always been pleased with them

This is what you want right here:

I have one in my house (new construction) and it's amazing. Why anyone is still installing traditional heat pumps over mini split DUCTED systems is beyond me. The air handler will tie straight in to your existing duct work, no problemo. It doesn't have heat strips, because it doesn't need them.
*Edit: I had that installed on the main floor (~1750sqft) and a two-headed ducteless mini split installed in the basement. Total cost was 13k for all of it.

14 SEER 1.5 TON Trane installed for $8,000! That is an estimate BTW. I'm still calling around.
