I have a single trunk Natchez variety and I want to make it a multi trunk. Was thinking a would just let 4 suckers from the base just grow tall instead of removing.
Has anyone done this? Any downside? I’m assuming the suckers will eventually catch up to the trunk size to make all 5 trunks look the same….
Thoughts?

Just keep trimming other sprouts and should not be a problem. The ones grandma planted almost a hundred years ago now formed a wall between the old house location driveway/parking area and the highway ditch because it got to be too much work.

Single trunks are much prettier
