I just bought a resin storage shed and am installing it on a wooden foundation set on concrete blocks. Will be about 6” off the ground. Pressure treated 2x6’s and 3/4” plywood foundation. Do I need to put down plastic for a barrier or would it be better to leave wood uncovered?

If there is airflow under the wood foundation, I wouldnt install a vapor barrier on top. I built a shop on a wood foundation, on blocks. I used Advantech for the decking and no vapor barrier. Airflow+drying potential is your friend.

Thanks for your reply. You’ve convinced me to scrap the plastic barrier.

Be sure the ground is well drained so there is not water under the shed.

Why not turtle back the ground under the shed so water doesn’t pool, and put the barrier down over the ground? Also, 6” off the ground isn’t much in the way of air flow.

Not enough airflow. You need a vapor barrier.
