Search for a15 or 20 year old Maytag or Whirlpool set with the mechanical controls. They run for ever. When something is needed parts are plentiful and cheap and are very easy to work on. I had a repairman out the other day for something else and he said don't ever get rid of these.

LG seems to be shooting up the reliability/quality charts the last 5-10 years. We got LG set from costco 2 years ago and they are great.
LG makes a great TV. I would not, and will not, ever trust them for a washing machine again. Not even with a Costco extended warranty.

Most critical parts are but some are non-existent now, like the piece of rubber/plastic strip that clips to the front of the lid and acts as a snubber/steam seal. Mine finally got to the point it was falling off every time I opened the lid, couldn't buy a replacement so I got some grey 1/4" self-stick weather gasket, works fine.

I'm just going by 3rd party trackers/raters. I had always avoided Samsung, LG, etc. but when when LG's reliability ratings were passing speed queen, I couldn't help but notice. And one of my units was made in Tennessee. I thought that was cool along with their focus on building out American support system for faster repairs and warranty work.

I bought the cheapest I could find from Best Buy and it works great.
