Water from under toilet during heavy rain

While all the rain was falling early this morning and the ditches in our neighborhood were flooded and full, I flushed a toilet and water rushed out from the base.
Was this only because of the flooding and pressure, and might my toilet be okay when the rain subsides, or will I have to replace the wax gasket?
I’ve been at work all day and haven’t followed up; just wondering what y’all might think..

Do you have an individual sewer treatment plant or a septic tank that drains into the ditch?

Our neighborhood has its own small treatment plant that serves all the homes there.

Check the boot around the vent pipe coming up through the roof.

Flange was messed up and the vent stack was cracked. $1200 later it was fixed

That happens when the drains are backed up.
Should be ok after water subsides.

Since you are in D'ville, you don't want to know what I think. Are you a member of the Hood family in Donaldsonville?

I’m not, but that’s funny. I do know of them, though.

This should not be happening. In my opinion, your sewer system has a major leak allowing rainwater in or a design flaw. The neighborhood not you personally.

It would be a good idea to add the $15-20 a year sewage & water backup endorsement on your home owners insurance

D'Ville is actually a pretty town. That place has a good past history. If you're from D'ville then I bet we know the same people. Donaldsonville has some citizens that are good but unfortunately the bad citizens out weigh the good ones. During my time over there I actually saw some pretty violent crimes taking place. One guy was jumped and he was beaten so bad that he had a fractured skull that was fractured in three different places. I also saw a black female that was told how to do something and she took it the wrong way. That poor girl had sores all over her scalp and the sores were open sores. I actually saw a couple of teen aged kids actually screwing in the bushes in front of a building. Coming from a city I thought that it would be nice to work in a small town. I was wrong and working in D'ville really opened my eyes and most of the people that started with me actually quit. To be honest, I wouldn't trade my experiences over there for anything. I couldn't believe some of the things that people who are from there actually believe. I couldn't believe the stuff that some adults from there actually believe. Don't let me know about some things that people over there actually eat.
