Is now the time to apply the winter weed cocktail or should I wait until February?

My back yard is St. Aug and front is Zoysia.
What should I apply to Zoysia(if anything) and when?

No need to wait.
Add a late winter/early spring pre emergent mid to late February. Dimension is a good one for the spring.

quote:

Dimension (Dithiopyr) is excellent for targeting young crabgrass, offering both pre-emergence and early post-emergence control, effectively killing seedlings when they have 2 to 3 leaves or up to the 5-leaf stage before they start tillering. It's a key benefit that gives you a wider application window compared to some other crabgrass preventers, making it ideal for late spring applications when crabgrass has already emerged but is still small.

Regarding your Zoysia:
quote:

Clegg's "Winter Weed Cocktail," which typically includes Atrazine, Weed Free Zone, and a spreader sticker, ]can be safe for Zoysia grass, but only if applied when the Zoysia is fully dormant[/u], as Atrazine and some other components can harm actively growing Zoysia or other warm-season grasses, so always check the product label for Zoysia-specific instructions and ensure there's no green tissue.

This - use post-emergent herbicides to control weeds when they are present. Immature weeds are easier to control than when mature.

I used Dimension on zoysia with good results. It seems to be a pretty good and inexpensive all-around Preemergent
