think is this dipshit is putting words in my mouth. that was what most of us "down players" stated would be the extent in BR. Minimal tree damage and what you explained above. Now he wants to say that's what we predicted from Haiti to Tampa to BR to Houston
It's not Gustav extensive, but the damage already there is past the point of minimal, and we haven't got the worst quite yet.
If I can drive a half mile and see three cross streets completely blocked by a downed tree, that isn't minimal.
Minor debris everywhere is minimal.

damage like gustav where extensive amounts of shite were torn apart. trees all over the city down... more than a few here and there.

Are you ruling that out though? I dont really understand that mentality. Wait another 24 hours and then complain about it.
I don't think it will be worse than Gustav, but if the storm parks over BR like it looks like it wants to, I don't know how anyone can rule that out.

Yes, I've said 100% it isn't going to happen. frick. No, I said I do not think it'll be as bad as Gustav.

"I think a lot of people were caught with their pants down," said Jerry Larpenter, sheriff in nearby Terrebonne Parish. "This storm was never predicted right since it entered the Gulf. It was supposed to go to Florida, Panama City, Biloxi, New Orleans. We hope it loses its punch once it comes in all the way."
That is a poor excuse. These people had 3 days to get out. We've known at least since sunday the general area, if you were in that general area you were going to get hit no matter where the eye went. People just don't want to listen.

No, no it isn't.
Just because the predictions didn't pan out (thankfully), doesn't mean like it was absurd to think that it could be a Gustav.
Sure, your perogrative to disagree, but to indict everyone who disagreed with you as "Chicken Littles" and "hoping BR is devastated" is absurd.
I mean just 30 hours ago, the official NHC projection (not the output of some cherry picked model) was that BR would see 80 mph sustained.
THAT'S what I am talking about.
I'm not arguing about if something was or wasn't overhyped....

that Entergy Power Outage map looks like BR is about 50/50 now. unlike NO which looks to be 90/10
