I'm taking 8 hours this semester. I have class on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday and an online seminar on Tuesdays. Don't go to school on Fridays.

And that's why they don't like to make long announcements.

Once they make it it can't be taken back.

Overhyped/not-overhyped. . .

Very real people are in very real shite. Both sides of this argument are minimizing their suffering, intentionally or no

Shut the frick up.

Like a bunch of children.

Wait, how is anyone talking here minimizing anyone's suffering?

Especially compared to f33's "I like my hurricanes like my...." thread.

Just did a little drive around old perkins. Bayou Manchac is the highest I have ever seen it. If it rains for another 24 hours then it may honestly cover the bridge. Across the railroad tracks water is very high. If the rain keeps up then it could go over the road soon. Never saw that, or even imagined it, as well. Quite a few trees down, and limbs are all over the road.

Storm was worse than Gustav in NO. Whether or not that's the case for BR remains to be seen.

I would like to think I was in neither the overhyping or overly-downplaying camp, though.

To me it seems like a solid development that they are still restoring power during the event in BR.

I have been looking at the DEMCO grid for the past few hours and it has really stabilized.

50/50 for 70816 while 2/3 of 70817 has power, and it has been like that for about 4 hours . They were also able to restore power in St. Helena and Livingston.
