***some statistical wizzard needs to add in the exact numbers to make my point. i know they are not exact, but post shula era @ bama has been awfully fertile for the crimson wave

I think LA will have one 5-star...Broadway.

Reed, Reid, Vinson, Jacobs, McKnight, Broussard, Charpentier, and Allen will all be 4-stars.

Welter and Simon are on the bubble between 3 and 4 stars.

Broadway will be a Top 10 dual threat QB (maybe #1).

Reed will be a Top 10 WR.

Reid will be a Top 10 S.

Jacobs will be a Top 10 TE.

Charpentier will be a Top 10 OL.

Allen will be a Top 10 DE.

Those are my Rivals predictions.

This year for Louisiana, talent-wise, mirrors the 2008 class awfully close.

Maybe at the top (if there are no five stars), but wouldn't you say that this class has a deeper talent pool?

There were only 4 players from LA in the top 200 prospects in the country for 2008, and Chris Tolliver was the highest rated at number 70. I assume there will be more this year.

Yes, I think this class will have more overall depth than 2008. I think LA will have 2-3 players in the Rivals 100 and 6-7 in the Rivals 250. 2009 may have had more elite top-ranked players than the next class but I think the overall depth will be similar to 2009 and deeper than 2008.

I think the individual rankings for this class will be higher (i.e., Reed somewhere between 25-50, etc.), but the ratings (stars) will be about the same.

But this is roughly what I was talking about when I said the classes mirror each other:

Tolliver ~ Reed
Taylor ~ Vinson
Clement ~ Allen
Branch ~ Jacobs
Jefferson ~ Broadway
Peterson ~ Simon
Spencer ~ Charpentier
Mauti ~ Welter
Nelson ~ Reid
Green ~ McKnight
