I actually didn't mean it in a negative way at all. It was received that way so nothing I can do about that.

Do Country Day kids even take the ACT?

Yet here you are making a ridiculous logical leap that is mentioned nowhere in the paper you posted. The ACT is a subject matter test, genetically influenced or not even a genius would score lower if they weren’t prepared. You’re confusing an IQ test with standardized testing and then accusing other people of being ignorant and not “knowing science”, gotta love the internet.

I’m sorry. I didn’t know I had to post citations for everything I post. ACT is a test of intelligence. The correlation between IQ and academic achievement is .7-.8 across domains. Here’s a link for you dumbasses. You need to xxx if you want to learn more actual facts instead of running off at the mouth about things you obviously know nothing about.

That 20 can get him into 90% of D1 schools in the country. So I’d say he should include that in profiles. You do realize athletics do not follow the same admission requirements as the school right? If you had to score a 23 or whatever it is now then half the players in the SEC wouldn’t be playing in the SEC

Think he picked up a Kentucky offer also. So the sec schools are starting to notice

No, it isn’t. Even the paper you posted doesn’t assert this, because it’s a fallacy. Correlation does not imply causation, especially when talking about one individual kid. The same relationship exists between income and IQ, yet there are brilliant people who are broke. Does income test for intelligence, professor?

What the paper does state is that there is a statistically significant relationship and that ACT can possibly predict IQ over the general population. Real groundbreaking stuff, intelligent kids tend to do well on standardized tests over a large sample. If your argument held any water an individual’s score would never significantly change no matter how many times they took the exam. Makes sense you’re in soft science academia.

Your analogy is nonsensical. Income is not a measured ability. Plus income is not strongly correlated with IQ, ask the many poor teachers. Correlation is consistent with causation, especially when you have strong evidence of common latent variables which you see in the SEM research of this topic. The high genetic component of IQ is actually the great equalizer because it moderates how much rich parents can actually advantage their kids with expensive private schools and extracurriculars. If the parents are rich but not smart the kids usually are not smart either. Suffice it to say there is a large research literature in this area and you are just wrong...and Momma said never argue with a drunk.

I may be a drunk but you're the one rambling and refusing to accept you got caught talking out of your arse. An aptitude test will always correlate to intelligence over a large population, but you can't just slap the transitive property on it an call it a day, and your peers who wrote the paper said as much. If you don't understand why there's a huge logical issue with you equating a subject matter exam with an IQ test then there's nothing I can do for you.

This sentence and the rest or your weak assertions in this thread are why your field will never be taken seriously by people in actual STEM, just FYI.

You have no idea what my field is. I guess you assume that only social sciences comprehend intelligence research (which based on your lack of knowledge is understandable). You would think genetics would have been a more relevant guess but you seen on the low end of IQ yourself. I doubt you have any field other than day drinking and sitting on your porch. Nothing you have said makes any sense to anyone but a moron. I’m the only one who has posted any actual research supporting everything I’ve said. I’d say you are talking out your arse but that would be insulting the intelligence level of asses. I’d guess you don’t have any actual degree from your poor arguments so far.

You think I don’t understand epigenetics as if that would somehow invalidate all the published research? You are right, no one in genetics knows about this thing you just discovered. You really are dumb.

I made an innocent comment and then got harangued by a bunch of science deniers. In their defense, I don’t think they were smart enough to understand what I was actually saying.

Exactly the kind of shite that does nothing to help recruiting, but reflects your smug arrogance. Do you think recruits want to come play in front of fans like you?
