LSU has 3 current players that are O-linemen in the NFL right now

Bama has 4

andre smith and chance warmack went in the 1st round recently. barrett jones went into the 4th round.

why didn't he go in the 1st round? did bama not coach him up good enough? terrible logic.

cyrus kouandjio will be a top drafted o-linemen being a LT

LSU would have had chris faulk go in the 1st, but he got hurt.

Joe Barksdale went in the 3rd round, andrew whitworth in the 2nd, nate livings went undrafted but is a solid starter with the cowboys.

collins will be a 1st rounder this year.

I don't think anyone is arguing about LSU players outnumbering Alabama players in the pros. People know LSU players are good. It's where they're being drafted at and in some cases some not even drafted at all, yet they still make pro teams because of their talent. Bama players continue to get drafted high and there is no real difference between them and LSU athletes, just the programs.

but they don't really do that well in the NFL it seems like

I guess the transition from being able to hold all the time to not being able to sucks

You're right, they don't do that well. In fact LSU players do better. But Bama players continually get taken in the first round thus getting good money because of Saban and the program. a lot of those guys are overrated. Barron and such. I wish Miles would have opened the passing lanes up NC nite to expose their asses.

Unless they had 3 cut, Bama has 7 OL in the NFL.

Warmack
Smith
Mathis
Jones
Johnson
Fluker
Carpenter
Caldwell

They also have a long snapper in Carson Tinker, but I won't include him.

Oh no, they're miserable in the NFL. I'm sure it's because:

Not trying to flame, but to JJ27's point:

quote:

Warmack - from 3* to top 10 pick. Multi-million in gtd money
Smith - top 10 pick. highest paid RT in the game
Mathis - 5 yr, $25M contract
Jones - 4th round pick. will hold (pun intended) a roster spot for 5+ years min. do to versatility
Johnson - 4th year in the league. Proj as starter before injury in camp.
Fluker - top 15 pick. multi-million gtd dollars
Carpenter - 1st round pick. multi-million gtd dollars. starter when healthy at RT
Caldwell - 5th year in league

They may not be Pro-Bowlers, but they've survived, thrived, and gotten paid extremely well at the next level.

Not at producing OL. If he chooses Bama Wednesday that's why. Not handlers or scandals. Because Bama puts OL in the first round. PERIOD.

Well damn. Do you believe Central Michigan to have better coaching than LSU, because that's where the #1player drafted this year played as an OT.
Point is, if the player has talent it doesn't matter if played for LSU or Saint Mary's the NFL will find you

Subjective comment. There are still more of them in the NFL than there are LSU o-linemen. They also likely ALL make more money than you.

I keep seeing this posted, yet Les has yet to produce ONE SINGLE FIRST ROUND OL. This is his 9th season at LSU. He's a former OL. Why can't he reel in the first round talent at OL? He's had no trouble doing it for DL and DB.
