Yes we did but we were sweating the sh*t out of it too

So now not only do you want Louisiana kids to commit to LSU all the time, you want them to do it two years in advance too? Got it...

quote:

So we got 1 of the past 3 in-state top recruits

In 2011 Bama signed 1 Louisiana recruit and he was not that highly ranked.
In 2010 Bama signed 0 Louisiana recruits. So we wont that year.
In 2009 Bama signed 3 Louisiana guys. The highest rated guy they signed was Eddie Lacy...Michael Ford was only one of 4 Louisiana guys we signed that was rated higher.

We need to fix this problem.

Don't worry, according to his twitter he is "far from a bama lock."

Does this seem like a integrity issue? Cam could have been silent but instead chose to mislead. If this is how Cam operates, then he needs to geaux to Bama. Nicky has been doing the same for years so it's no wonder Cam felt comfortable with Nicky.

LSU will be fine. LSU is one of the nation's top program and your state is loaded with HS talent. LSU isn't going to decline anytime soon

There is not a gap between LSU and Alabama.

The evidence would suggest otherwise, my man. They have three NC's in the last four years, we have zero. That's a gap. We can argue about the magnitude of the gap, but it's there.

In any event, the debate about Cam could consume an entire week, but I'll express my feelings as succinctly as I can and leave it at that:

According to the credible recruiting services, Robinson was the consensus best player in the state and a top ten national recruit. More importantly, our own staff wanted Robinson, pursued Robinson vigorously, and offered Robinson. There is no question about that. But we didn't get him. Instead, he went to our hated rival, Bama. As a result, we will have to replace Robinson with a less talented, less desirable player, even according to the metrics used by our own coaching staff. Bama is incrementally enriched, we are incrementally impoverished.

We were beaten by Bama in this recruiting battle. We wanted an elite player, Bama wanted an elite player, they got him, we didn't. Period. That doesn't mean that I concede future games or seasons to Bama, but they did best us here, today, in this one recuiting battle for a premier in-state player. That's a bad thing. As an LSU fan, whenever Bama beats LSU in any arena, whenever something occurs that hurts the LSU program - even marginally - I am disappointed. No different than when LSU loses a game. If I didn't feel that way, I really wouldn't even be a fan.

I don't follow Twitter so I can't comment on the timing of that statement.

But IMO, the guy was being respectful/considerate of LSU by announcing his commitment this early, rather than dragging it out to NSD. He's not keeping LSU hanging, wasting yalls time, and allowing yall to concentrate on other O-line prospects.

Kids see that Alabama is winning National Championships which drives the kids interest. Was the same in the 90s when top LA kids were leaving to go to Florida, Florida State and Miami. I mean Cam Robinson wants to win a state championship in high school so what does he do transfer from Ouachita to West Monroe for his SR year to live in an Apartment in West Monroe, i.e. gave his mom a job. You people say loyal to LA, he is not loyal to anything, and shouldn't be. Has to do what is best for him. His best is to go start day one on Bama's newly rebuilt O-line, play 3 years and bolt for the NFL. He could be a bust like Chris Davenport from Mansfield or be a NFL first round draft pick. Don't know. But the bottom line of his recruiting was giving his buddy a schola- script so they could play together. You ever watch the blind side, You realize that WR are a dime a dozen and Left Tackles are rare with his athleticism. Tricky Nick beat LSU against. Sims won't play, won't matter, Saban gets his player and his promise to start as a Freshman.

This.

States loaded with high school football talent (Florida, Texas, California, Georgia, Louisiana, Ohio, Alabama) are never able to keep all the guys in-state.

It gets tiresome reading about spoiled, entitled fans that think LSU should be snaring every top Louisiana prospect.

Use your brains. They're following the championships. When Bama wasn't winning them, they were going to Florida. When Florida wasn't winning them, they were going to USC, and Florida State, and Nebraska.

Quit crying over something that's really nothing new. There will always be a couple of top recruits that go out of state to play for the top team. That top team just happens to be Bama right now. Yet there's idiots that want to try to say that Miles is letting something happen that coaches before him didn't let happen. Was Saban getting every top LA recruit when he was here? Nope.

WTF, why are you chicken littles suggesting a player from LA committing to Bama is possible? I don't know what you're on, but that would never happen - we've known that for months!

Bama will have the best recruiting class in the history of collage football. All the while laughing in our face for not firing Les and taking him back. I still think they insulted Cams intelligence by offering Sims just to get him if that is what happened. Now if we lose the others to bama or anyone else I would give Les an ultimatum. You figure out what that is.
