Yeah you are right. All CM has to do is to continue his perfomance on into the season and LSU will not be able to turn away. I love Ford and feel good about Pratt. BUt CM is the Truth. He and Ford would be like. K-Willy and C-Scott. J Vincent and Alley Broussard. Toefleid and Addai. Mealey and Faulk.(throwback tandem)Two different types of backs. 1 a workhorse strong and carry the load. The other agile with a quick burst.

It may just be an issue where the LSU coaches made a COMMITMENT to TR

Well excuse me, but since when do we make commitments to players that have already given their commitment to another team, a rival SEC team no less?

I don't know what to think, but I say LET TR play for Coach Saban...Lets move forward with a player that wants to be at LSU, and quiet frankly probably has more character and attitude than most players.. Bring him on board before it is too late

Hey, read my post...I agree that CM should be offered now.

You don't know the circumstances of the Bama commitment, nor do you have any idea what Les and him have said to each other regarding that commitment and his chances at being at LSU.

Your right I don't, nor does anyone else except the staff and TR...But most players, once they commit end up keeping their commitment..

He could change, but I doubt it..

Plus LSU is just further away from home for TR(Florida)....Meanwhile CM is from Texas, and it would be a reasonable travel for his family to see games.

I don't see LSU giving a player a "commitment" of some sorts for a player than has already given a verbal to Bama...

Unless he made a good case to the staff, "hey I might change my mind"..I just don't see it happening..

If he had not already committed to another school, it is a different deal...verbal commitment should mean something...should be taken very seriously..

Maybe they are just in love TR, they just will do anything to get him?

I think they could fall in love with CM once they see him in person

WHAT DOES SHEP SAY ABOUT ALL THIS?

i don't get it. this kid is by all indications a stud. he wants to be at LSU. it seems easy to me. offer the kid.

you would think Les learned his lesson about holding spots for players (TR in this case apparently) after a certain John Curtis running back bolted for the West Coast.

It's not that hard to get. Christine Michael may be a stud, but Trent Richardson is equally if not moreso a stud (being the #11 ranked player on Rivals), and his decision is clearly not final. Given the running backs we have interested in us for 2010, the staff should feel comfortable waiting it out for the guy they really want.

You know they'd love them some Goodson and Michael on the roster at the same time.

BUT THEY HAVEN'T SEEN CM IN PERSON...

Those that have this summer said he is real deal....so when they see him, the will probably change their minds about TR being top dawg on their board....

What will happen is both will end up being Tigers..

This is true, and FWIW I'd like to see Christine Michael be part of this class.

The coaches have already seen Richardson in person. They have not seen Michael play in person. If he is as good as advertised, he will get an offer when they do see him in person.

Question: Does the LSU staff normally put guys through a workout when they make official visits? I always thought it was just a facilities tour, talk with the coaches, etc.

You are correct. NCAA rules prohibit a workout for coaches on an official.

Huh???? We're not going to be able to work him out during a visit.

That's another thing; if he wants a CO as bad as is advertised, then why hasn't he made it to BR for a visit? Can someone enlighten me? Sorry if Germans!

LSU (Baton Rouge) is actually almost an hour closer than Tuscaloosa but I agree with you when it comes to pursuing committed players within the SEC, especially a rival like Bama.

I agree Just what I thought yea-day when I read this.

If a kid wants to be a Tiger he probably wants to play ball too. Maybe that counts for a half or quaada star, i dunno. But it makes a kid more valuable to me if he really wants to be a Tiger.

Wow, I didn't not know that....thanks for the heads up..

Hopefully the coaches are all over that...

Since we are further West, I just assumed...

"never assume"....

Books

This begs the question, if film eval is NOT enough; why HAVEN'T we seen him in person? I'm NO expert.......... FAR from it. But do we really see EVERY recruit play in person? Can coaches scout during camps? Not another University's camp, but a national type camp (e.g Mannings Passing Camp, etc)?

It just seems to "ME", that we're missing something here! It seems as though there's something we don't know about what's going on behind closed doors; something more than we wanna rub it Saban's face. And even something more than we don't want to have to play against him for 4 years. This is a player that even though is a "soft committ" ......"appears" to be blocking a CO from a frigging STUD; one that supposedly is dying to play for us. Again, something appears to be amiss here.
