I would love to get another seasoned P4 LB. Doesn't have to be an elite player, but we could use experience and depth at the position.

Do "we"? Beside Whit, of course.
LSU's LBs last season weren't anything special outside of Whit. West was ok, but limited. Same for Keys. It was a bowl game, but Houston didn't have much trouble moving the ball vs. LSU with Keys and Singleton in. Particularly on the ground.
In the last two offseasons LSU has taken transfers at every position...except LB. I don't even know if they've even brought anyone in for a visit. That's not a coincidence. It's because that is Baker's personal group and I think what you are seeing is some degree of emotional bias towards "his guys". That would be fine if the LB group as a whole had some really dominant players (outside of Whit). But it doesn't. So it seems a bit negligent to be willing to try to upgrade, or at least bring in competition at every other position...except the DC's "baby"

Yes the class was LOADED last year with talent that got to redshirt.
