I think he did have an offer, but I don't think we were pressing nearly as hard for him as A&M was. LSU was trying to make room for "big fish" that ended up going elsewhere. This was the year we pushed out guys like Demon Clowney, Jalen Lee, Major Burns, etc., and we already have Webb, White & Sampah committed at LB.
After the early signing period, when it became obvious we were going to have more room than previously expected, I think it was too late.

Sad part is though we started pushing at the same time A&M did so not like they was pursuing him hard before us. He took a visit there an not too many weeks after he committed. But he came back glowing about A&M. Apparently they only showed him the co-eds and not the midnight yell queer fest that is A&M. Bottom line is if he wanted to he could have came to LSU. Anybody saying he didn’t have a committable offer is just lying

Clowney and Lee are currently in the portal and Burns has already transferred to LSU a couple of years ago.
