I think Alabama just took a 1 star - who woulda thought that? Maybe they see something in the kid that others don't.

Its a back-up plan, and he already knows it. If 2 of Boone,Fobbs, and Reed sign...He's out.
So how is that orchestrated. Does he wait around all day on NSD and see who commits. I would like to know the dynamics of it.

I get that feeling too. There is nothing wrong with a WR haul of Boone, Wright, and Thomas. While I've never seen Thomas play, his stats are outstanding and his profile (measurable) stats are on par with all the top guys. Some have asked the question, . . . Then why hasn't he be recruited? I don't know, but he is now by LSU. The * system has got many twisted out, as there are many factors in determining success and potential. The kid had a break out year, now watch him continue to develop and grow.

We need to focus on getting defensive linemen, offensive linemen, and linebackers. It seems like everyone's forgotten how loaded we already are at ALL talent positions - this was the case last season, and the season was not a successful one.

We need to stack the team from the inside out - we've done otherwise and now the outside is loaded and we're losing battles in the trenches. We cannot utilize our talent to the fullest without getting push.

We need to settle down with all of the WR talk and focus primarily on getting guys like Ferguson, Jackson, Parker, Moses, and Copeland.

We need to continue to recruit all positions. Just because we need lineman, doesnt mean you dont pursue skill players.

DaveDog, sorry to break it to you but, Moses is not coming for a visit, nor is he switching to LSU. Copeland may switch after his visit, but the rest is just wait and see.

I think it is difficult for the scouting services to rate kids who develop late and may not have had big soph or jr years. If they are not on the services radar, they just don't get a lot of attention no matter what school they are playing for. Hopefully, Thomas is one of these late bloomers.

I think you get what you can, but I do believe there should be a greater emphasis on OL and DL, not so much DE but DT and LB's...the other guys right, we have so many at the skill its hard to keep everyone happy...look at this year as an example...dont get me wrong you recruit all positions every year, were just so thin on the lines and especially at LB...

DocJerome, you're really not breaking anything to me (at all). All I said was that we need to focus on those players - I didn't say anything about them leaning towards LSU.

As far as waiting and seeing, they're ALL in that category - if they weren't then we'd obviously have more verbals at the moment now wouldn't we?

Keep it up.

Big Fat, are you satisfied with this year's class in regards to us filling our needs? If not, why aren't you satisfied?

No fears, it's the greatest time of your life, sharing your world. But, at least you'll have football.

+1. Could be another Hester as far as being underrated IMO.

"Scarey", "Risk", "Project", Some of the words used to describe Eric Thomas, THE TIMES' offensive MVP, First Team All-State, First Team All-American, starting WR on Evangel's State Championship Football Team, conquerer of John Curtis in which he caught 11 passes for over 100yds, over the middle, outside, etc., 6'2.5", 205 lbs., John Curtis a team no South Louisiana team could beat in the last 2 years. Has over a 3.0 GPA, and has a qualifying ACT according to one of the Evangel Coaches. "But he has only 2 Stars" "He has no scholarship offers". My understanding, for various reasons he is very difficult to contact, and if a recruiter can't get in touch with him, he won't offer him. Les did it right, he went to see him. He plays multiple sports at Evangel, and is an exceptional basketball player. He is a very devout Christian, and is very "coachable" young man. In other words he is not a "hot shot" who goes around beating his own PR drum. He has played against many of the top 5-A programs (Those who would play Evangel) in the state, and NO ONE COULD STOP HIM. If you have seen him play, you can legitimately critique him. Don't base your opinion on those who haven't. He is the real deal, like Jacob Hester, like John David Booty, like Brock Berlin, like Abram Booty.

Fobbs going to A&M would be like Seastrunck signing with Tulane. Might be their biggest catch in a decade! Maybe the kid likes the big fish in a small, desolate pond concept???
