One would think so, but according to Rivals, Texas didn't sign a single 5 star player in the 2008 recruiting class. That surprised me.

After reviewing their board again, they actually seem pretty calm and restrained.
I also notice the "Les is an idiot" jibes of a year ago have turned to damn Les keps getting our guys".

I like UT and wouldnt mind seeing them win the Big 12 south every year. I just think Mac achieved his goal in 05 and he's just riding it out....

As a native Texan, I can honestly say that the University of Texas has the most delusional fanbase. If someone changes their commitment - "They were not good enough." When aTm wins - "Aggies are our rival." When aTm loses - "Oklahoma is our rival." etc. etc. etc.
There is a reason they are called T-sips. Moreover, what's worse is the Texas State University (formerly Southwest Texas University) student that speaks and brags of UT but never attended UT.
I'd take Alabama or Florida fans over Texas fans any day and that is a TOUGH statement to make!!!

They hate LSU fans just because they see us as a threat. All they post on OB is about how they are classier and better than LSU. And their academic superiority complex is ridiculous. They are by far the most elitist pricks on the rivals network. Anyone from LA is "swamp trash" and anyone from Austin is "God's gift". Ironic that they would be such classless pricks when that is all they tout.

First - Jeff Ketchum is an idiot - his radio show was awful till they brought in someone to carry the show for him. His website and it's users are a reflection of how he thinks things should be discussed
second - as far as recruiting, Mack's philosophy has backfired. It worked at first as he was loading up on commitments while they were sophmores, thus filling up these classes with top in-state talent. But his caveat is that some of these kids really grow into their own between their junior and senior season and put up impressive numbers. But, by then, if they weren't on UT radar, it's pretty much too late as most of the schollies are already accounted for.

Texas is worried for the future. They know that OU will still be a player in TX even though they are really only looking to take Brent from Texas this year. Most years, OU does what LSU is doing. I think they're worried that LSU will make the same inroads that OU has made. But if Texas fans would stop whining like little girls, they would realize that they are having a very solid class. The only difference is the predominence of LSU in on the top players instead of OU. We don't even play Texas. I could care less about that school. If we played in the Big 12, maybe it would make sense for them to whine about recruiting and LSU all-day, everyday, but we're not. And thank god for that. If there is one thing we have that they will never have (aside from a better football environment), it's playing in the SEC. The Big 12 is fielding their best year ever and still nobody cares.
