This source give any indication what the decision would be?
According to all UGA insiders he and Kendrick, the CB from Clemson, will both announce UGA tomorrow.

Some shady stuff going on over there is all I've got to say.

Of course there is.
Gilbert just wants it easy.
Would've been better if we would've never signed him and grabbed a different highly rated te.

Gilbert seems pretty unstable
Doubt he ever does much on the field

Sounds like UGA is selling him on being a WR in their offense with Pickens out this season. We'll see if he announces he's going to UGA tomorrow or not like they are all saying he will.
Could turn out to be another Florida situation where there's a lot of promises they can't deliver on. He still can't transfer right now from everything I've read.
Also getting way out of hand if he does announce for UGA after once again stringing our coaches along about returning here. Even if that falls through we might as well cut bait at that point, just ridiculous if he announces for 2 other SEC schools while still being on scholarship here. If he doesn't wanna be here he can figure things out on his own in JUCO if he wants to transfer that bad.

Agreed. Our coaches have bent over backwards and he’s making fools of them

quote:maybe. Some people just think the rules don't apply to them... for a extremely wide variety of reasons (or more accurately: self-justifications). That's true in sports and the outside world.

In sports, the roots of such are obvious. From praise, to being just that damn good (and Gilbert is that damn good), to people chirping in your year. Ask HB7- those hanger-ons and voices in your ear(s) can ruin you.
quote:This I disagree with. Gilbert is irresistable to a coach. You just don't see players like him everyday; maybe I should say players like he can be. You have to give a player like Gilbert a try; if you don't you ain't trying.
Would've been better if we would've never signed him and grabbed a different highly rated te.
And if it don't work out- you put the next man up and go look for the next one. Because the hunt for the next Gilbert never stopped. It's CFB; you never stop recruiting and you're always building.

This guy is dumb as hell. Why would you announce this with no rules in place to allow you to transfer over UGA? Unless he plans to sit out in which case I'd understand...but I don't think he thinks he's sitting out.
I agree with you cut ties with him and let him sort it out himself. He has used LSU enough. Bye. If we see him on the field I hope they hit him so hard he decides to take the rest of the season off to protect his body.

on top of that if he announces that he intends to transfer to UGA then I hope we do anything we can to make it more difficult for him to become eligible to play for them

I'm not saying you are wrong but from what I've seen on here i thought the coaches weren't getting their hopes up and didnt expect him back.

I think that is how it started, but optimism had grown over time until all this UGA smoke starting coming about

Scarborough was on Hanny Thursday and sounded rather confident that Gilbert would be a go for LSU this fall.
Eventually, all but one of the recruiting prognosticators has gotta be wrong.

Isn’t Scarborough know to be unreliable?

Is he on scholarship at LSU? Meaning, he was an EE so his one year commitment probably expired at the end of Fall 2020. I would assume at this point even if he came back to LSU he would not be eligible till 2022 and than possibly serve a suspension as well.
If he is not eligible at LSU than he isn't going to be eligible at another school barring some type of waiver or change in rules.
Florida most likely told him the bad news, that he probably will not be eligible for 2021.

Flat out dicks lsu over again. We helped that retard get his grades in order and had everything set up for him to come back.
Close the book on this saga. Tired of worrying about it. Move on. He’s not going to help UGA get over the hill vs LSU and Bama. They will still get their arse beat when it matters

How did he get his grades in order? If his grades were in order he would have transferred to Florida.

As I understood it he was taking spring classes remotely. We gave him help and a roadmap to get back here. He never talked about UGA and then UGA just popped up
Posted on 6/1/21 at 10:29 am to GeauxFightingTigers1
According to other sites he wasn’t enrolled in school in the spring and isn’t enrolled for the first summer session. If that is correct then his grades are not in order. He’s in the same boat as when he committed to UF. Nobody seems to know anything definitive on him tho, so there’s no point in believing anything.
It’s kinda funny how UGA said that they told him no way when he contacted them at first but now they say that they will land him.

So, he was going to Florida to transfer and enroll when he was already enrolled and on scholarship at another school? If he was eligible for 2021 at another school he wouldn't have came back in April to talk with LSU.
Scholarships are only good for one year, his first contract was up at the end of Fall 2020. The LSU talks most likely didn't work as he wasted a semester, so even if he came back to LSU he probably wouldn't be eligible till 2022 and than have to serve a suspension.
He came back to talk with LSU because of? He dug himself a hole.

He wanted to transfer to UF. His grades were shite and UF couldn’t take him. Hence him going back to LSU to try to walk it back. LSU helped him and guided him how to get back. He has 6 credit hours to complete and he’s good.
I assume once he got that initial chunk out of the way he was thinking hmm I can go somewhere else if I want since my GPA isn’t a 1.0 anymore.
