Besides, having 1 and done's is one of the worst possible things for a team. Look at Auburn and Cam. having to constantly replace someone leaving after 1 year is a rough situation for a football team, especially when that player is a QB.

JUCO players are supplemental and should never be the foundation of a roster and never build a team around a JUCO player. Some teams learn the hard way but I doubt anyone at Auburn regrets having Cam for just one year.

So Keil was there for the Arkansas game and is he still there today?
No - he had to leave, return home and then come back. You cannot just flow an unofficial into an official - against the rules.
Having said that, I have NEVER heard of a kid in for a game on an unofficial just immediately turn around and come back on an official. It is likely that as an EE - that's what is driving this particular sequence of events, but it's still almost unheard of.
I think, right now, Miles and Co take a QB and they are waiting for Kiel (who is almost out of time if he's going to enroll early), but have a quick trigger on Liggins if not. It's possible they are thinking - we're losing 2 senior QBs, so we need 2 QBs, but I'm not sure - that would sure signal they're not completely sold on Rivers.
It's also possible Liggins is a definite take (he may ultimately work out at another position) and Kiel will get one of the blue chip spots at the end - because his decision cycle is so quick, we're not really risking anything at this point.

Miles in his weekly conference said Randall would be looked at different position than QB..dont know if thats the reason for taking 2 QB this year

on the radio last night, i don't know who it was, but he said he believes his family went to n.o. and then came back. the guy talking also said he believes kiel will make a decision in next 2 weeks bc he is doing early enrollment.

We just a need a SMART QB who can run 'IF' need be/
Brees, Brady, Rogers Etc.
You don't need a Young, Newton, Vick or Tebow to win Championships. You need them to win games b/c your defense isn't the best.

There are a lot of SMART QBs who are terrible football players. Might want to reevaluate what you want in a good QB.

yup he is visiting Vandy this week and ND next week and will make decision after that..lets hope ND doesnt impress him too much

Brady can't run a lick....I do agree with Brees and Rogers though. Brady runs like Rich Eisen.

you'd rather LSU have solid to good college qbs over all-time great ones?

Take that stupid shite to the rant. It takes a stupid frick to say they wouldn't take the college version of Young, Newton, Vick, or Tebow in which all 4 played for National Championships.

A Notre Dame fan lecturing a tiger fan about football. That's choice. We watch the best team in the land play football and we don't see yelling or screaming. The culture YOU see is losing football. There are petty tyrants coaching in all sports at all levels. There are also positive mentors who teach while preserving human dignity. You like tyrants? Bully for you -- literally.
I'm not sure how old rocket31 is, but if he was watching ND in the late 80s and in the 90s, then he has seen plenty great teams. In fact, LSU right now reminds me of those ND teams. Tough, physical, smash mouth. They wore teams down.
As for coaching style, Kelly just doesn't look pretty when he screams. His face gets red (or purple). He screams as much as Saban, or even Holtz did. There is more than 1 way to teach and motivate. As much as I like Miles, his style is not the only effective style. For rocket31, I bet he would say that Ty Willingham was calm and reassuring. How far did that get him?

Yes, if we can get either of those three to sign I think we'll be really good...

I'll share the wealth from an update we had on the ND site:
LSU made up a ton of ground and Gunner is really impressed. He really likes Kragthorpe and how things are run.
If he wasn't an EE and LSU was in it from the beginning I would say that they would have a very good chance at landing him. The problem for the Tigers is that ND has the last visit and South Bend is a short drive from Columbus and distance is a definite factor.
Still perceived he will end up at ND but would not be a shock if he picked LSU.

No, he asked if they did that and Ponamsky said no he went home. Ponamsky also said that it is extreamly unusual to follow up and unofficial with an official so fast

isnt it 3 hours?
and fwiw, i think vandy is the same distance from columbus IN as south bend is which is why they are a factor as well.

Bill Snyder disagrees with this assessment, but KSU is the perfect place to build on JUCOs being a primary impact on the roster...there is a good deal of JUCOs there to pipeline to for them.
Arkansas, IMO, is starting to more and more go that route. They have signed 12 JUCOs in the last 3 years, have 1 committed right now for 2012 and an Arky friend of mine said they are heavily recruiting 4 more for this year. The majority of their JUCO recruits have been defensive players, a place they have struggled recruiting the high school ranks in.
