How do the numbers work for recruiting in Baseball. We have 20 coming in the 2025 class. That seems like a lot for on class on a baseball roster. Is that normal or are we losing that many off the roster?

34 players max but you can designate so many as a student athlete based off house settlement and they do not count. forgot exact wording.

and lsu will not have anywhere close to 20 coming in between the draft etc

but they will also make cuts after fall to get the roster down. also some will be walkons or redshirts.

We always have more HS and JUCO commits than we have "room" for.

Because of the draft, we know there will be losses.

We also expect a certain amount of draft losses off the current roster and a certain amount of transfers out. That opens up spots for transfers in.

Right now there isn't exactly a hard cap for players. We look to be carrying 39, though we wanted 40 or 42.

There will eventually be a hard cap, but it's getting tapered down as everyone figures out the moving target of the House settlement.
