I just watched his highlight tape and I am very disappointed. Not LSU caliber one bit. A huge project. He is big but that is it. Very bad feet and very week. His feet are so bad he plays guard in high school.

Prolly has something to do with the fact that they are coaches and have specialized knowledge that you lack plus the fact that they worked with the guy at camp and you didn't. Other than that, no clue.

I'll believe he has a comittable offer from LSU when he commits. If he is sitting on an LSU offer and a Troy offer and is still trying to decide, I doubt he could qualify anyhow.

Miles has final say on all O and D lineman, and he's put together some serious lines. If this kid can redshirt (workout, run, and learn techniqe) then back up for two years he has two years to start.

First of all you guys are looking at film that is nearly a year old, and with a guy his size he is still growing into his body and getting coordination. The coaches have seen him recently, we have not.
Having said that, you can see in his film that he is cat quick for a guy his size with quick feet & is agile and strong. If coach Stud thinks he can mold this guy into an OL then none of us really have a leg to stand on to disagree. Even if he proves to be a flop.

Yup, coaches never, ever make a bad decision. Ever.

one more time--the guy from utah is not a mormon.

Posted on 7/17/08 at 7:30 am to chasboo
then why is he coming in early to go to church with Crowton, a mormon church?
Posted on 7/17/08 at 7:45 am to seeLSUrun
Don't know but he stated that he was not a mormon on two different occasions.

ill make sure, but im pretty damn sure he's a mormon

Su’a-Filo, who also has a 3.2 GPA, also has one other request of the school he signs with. He wants to go on a Mormon mission during his college years.
ok there you go, he's definitely mormon

Williford doesn't look bad at all for a junior in high school. He actually looks pretty good. He does come out of his stance a little too high but that can be coached. He has great power as every guy he gets a hand on ends up on thier back. Run blocking he constantly is chopping his feet and driving the defender away from the ball and shows no quickness problems as he frequently gets to LB's and does the same to them as he does to the DL. He even looked pretty good on the few pulls I saw him in on. I would like to see more of a mean streak in him and his pass blocking technique needs some work, but overall IMO I feel like he could become an a future strong point for LSU's OL. Not every recruit needs to come in and start immediately. That's why we have a recruiting class every year.

I'm about to watch the film right now.

Well first of all do you ever stop to think that maybe he cant help the size of his committion?
Maybe because of the size of his compitition thats why he needed to come to camp and he oviously did a whole lot betteragainst people close to his size cause lsu wont offer any body cause of a film.

Buffering is taking so long that I'm not going to watch the entire reel this morning.
I saw several plays though. I don't see what all the negative banter is about. First, he's out of position at guard. He's a tackle. He needs more conditioning work, but his upper body (strength) looks really good for his age.
He's not challenged playing Alabama private school ball. However, he shows aggressiveness and gets the job done. I don't see him taking off any plays or doing anything half-arse.
I will watch the rest of the film later when I have more time, but I think he is doing fine. He is carrying a little too much weight for right now. If he was at 325 or 330, I guarantee he would look a lot less sluggish (and I personally don't see where he looks bad right now, although you can tell he needs to work on running and agility some).

Don't hold your breath, Fisherman.
When I was with Rivals, I sent in video that took 8 months to go up.
