Apparently, it's challenging to make a point without throwing the old staff under the bus. We understand they underachieved, but there's no need to mention them in every single thread. Sheesh

It’s human nature to reflect on what was wrong with the past, before accepting the promise of a better future.

Remember, it was Kelly, the self proclaimed OL guru, that bragged that we had a good OL. I don’t know how he developed that opinion from the golf course.

I don’t remember a true freshman at LSU being a key rotational piece in a good DT room.
He wasn't a 5 star but Davon Godchaux was a starter by game 3 in his frosh season.

Yeah your right, other than him and Lacatoure there were no other reliable DT that year and both probably played over 80% of the meaningful snaps. Unsurprisingly the defense was not great that year

Maason Smith logged significant playing time his FR season:

quote:

As a freshman, he started four of nine games, earning Freshman All-America honors and a spot on the SEC All-Freshman Team with 19 tackles and five tackles for loss.

If it wasn't for a freak accident in the 1st qtr of the opening game the following season he was considered a top DT in the SEC.

Richard anderson is considered that good.
