5'11 is small for a linebacker
and if they say he's 5'11 on a recruiting site he could easily be 5'10-ish
Any man that small running that fast (4.4 forty) is very unlikely to have the frame to be a physical presence as a LB

As per Sonny Ship Bell visiting is shite totally false

That was very true in the pre-spread days. Now every team in the SEC badly needs a Telfort to play LB. You got to have a guy like him to play against spread teams. Those guys are the future on defense and will make their livings on 2 and long and 3rd and long.

well, with that theory why don't we just play 3-4 Safteys on the field then? There is really no difference. Hell, Chad Jones is bigger and probably a lot more physical than Telfort.
Look at it however you wish, Telfort is VERY small to be a LB

We do play 4 safeties most of the time.
2 deep safeties, 2 cornerbacks and depending on whether it's the nickel or the dime package they have Chad Jones and for most of the year had another safety (either Mccray or Hatcher)

my point was that he was basically describing Saftetys in type as to what is effective to defend the spread...
At 5'11, 190 lbs. running a 4.4, Telfort is describing more Safteys than he is LBs with those measurables

As a Bama fan, you can have Telfort. We are going to have Nico Johnson and Tana Patrick to a young and big LB core. We may get Jonathan Atchinson, Jonathan Stewart(Louisiana native) or Greg King to this class as well. I hope Sentimore qualifies, he is going to be a great addition to our defensive line with his power and speed. Overall, we want the BIG FISH, Rueben Randle, real bad. He can help out the next QB in a major way especially when Julio starts being double teamed.

If it's 2nd or 3rd and short, yes, Telfort would be a small LB but on 2nd or 3rd and long, Telfort is the perfect sized LB for LSU.
I don't think the semantics matter so much as the position and scenario in which LSU is likely to recuit and use Telfort and I think I've described that. He will likely play where a LB usually plays and will do what a LB usually does on 2nd or 3rd and long except he will do it much better than what we currently have, in my view.

I don't disagree
but physically, we have guys like Jones and McCray who are much more physically qualified to play LB than Telfort IMO
I just hope we get him... the LSU teams that are good are the ones that are good on defense

you were sweating Blackmon the other day, no you are bashing small LB's?

Blackmon isn't Telfort small, dipshit
you also know I love Baker and he is probably a hair smaller than Blackmon - but both are undoubtedly bigger than Telfort
