How much better is he then jerrard randle in hs? He would probably sit 3 yrs at lsu if he cant beat out randle or rivers when mett leaves & I guess we shouldn't count out liggins.

Top talent like him don't worry about a little competition.

And if he can't beat them out, they maybe he's not the top talent some people think he is.

If he's good enough, he'll play.

Mett didn't beat out JJ or LEE idk if it matters who is the top talen. But I think randell could be a top talent if he develops right he has the arm & the speed.

False. Les Miles and experience beat out Mett. End of story

IMO Barrett looks like a better choice than Swoopes. I know Swoopes is a bigger athlete but he looks slow and lumbering and lacking those quick change of pace moves. I think the SEC defenses would cause problems for him.

Mett didn't start which means he didn't beat them out. He probably wasn't given a fair shot but put whatever spin you want on it he didn't beat them out. But I like barret I just dnt know how real of a chance we got to land him or if he ever get a real chance over randell or rivers.

Not to get real involved in the whole JJ/JL/Les argument but it has been said that Mett's problem was an issue with picking up the playbook not talent, peformance or favortism. It's likely that a combo of things contributed to him not playing.

If I were Texas with the questions they have at QB, I'd take Barrett. He's just so much more safe an option.

That means Miles will get Swoopes.

Shoot for the moon. What the hell. After all, Miles has actually GOT some 5 star QB's. they just ended up being R Perilloux and RS10.
Good but not great as you'd hope with the 5 star high school thing going for them. Sometimes you get the bear. sometimes the bear gets you.

I'm sorry, but give me Barrett over Swoopes. However, these two are so eerily similar to Robert Griffin and Vince Young. Swoopes friendship with Seals-Jones makes the playing field even, possibly an advantage towards Swoopes. Can't really go wrong either way

J.T.Barrett vs. Robert Griffin

Tyrone Swoopes vs. Vince Young

Barrett and Griffin footage is both junior film, as well as Swoopes but unsure of what year of Vince that is.

I know they usually get these comparisons based on players from their own region most of the time, but I feel like their films match up well.

What is the early consensus of chance we have with either guy in terms of percentage.

Ha I remember when Russel Sheppard was telling us we needed to try and get Griffin, should have listened up. They said other recruits around the area had a lot of respect for him.

You can tell griffin had that amazin touch on his deep ball in hs & it really showed this year. Based on the high light it looks like barret runs more but I like jerrards speed & arm strength better based of the highlight. But what's hard to judge is how accurate & smart they are.

Swoopes=0% chance
Barrett-wait until after Texas' 2nd jr day when he visits and see if they offer. Best bet says they don't but will still have to wait out Swoopes. If Swoopes chooses Texas then everyone's chances with Barrett goes up significantly, if not then Barrett will likely be a Longhorn.

Not exactly the ideal set of circumstances for qb recruiting imo. We should continue to recruit Barrett but also continue to heavily pursue other targets because of the unknowns with Barrett's status with Texas.
