I've heard that the 22nd is more likely. This weekend has been basically ruled out.

I would think they would. They can not wait to get his OV. They need him in Baton Rouge ASAP.

That's a negative it's a been in rule books for years. You can not book official visits at a whims notice. There is still time though.

Correct I wasn't referring to this time frame it has to do with notification of his OV to LSU you can not just book a OV last minute. Have to consider his school schedule as well.

The 48 hours means how long the visit can last.. The official visit..
There's still time though. Today is an exciting day!

That's right they still have time. He could get there on Sat and still have his 48hrs and be back for school on Monday. More than enough time to REEL him in!

Well seeing as how ESPN and Rivals have reported it maybe everything has already been put in place.
Posted on 1/14/16 at 10:06 am to ReverendJeffro
Where do you see this rule? I have never heard of it and there is nothing about it anywhere.
A. Length of Official Visit
The official visit shall not exceed 48 hours, measured from the time the prospect
first reaches campus or is entertained in any manner by the institution whichever
comes first, to the time of the prospect’s departure from campus. [B 13.7.2.1]
If the prospect remains in the locale in which the institution is located beyond the
48-hour period for reasons unrelated to the visit, the institution may not pay
his/her expenses to return home. [B 13.7.2.1]
B. Transportation
1. Only round trip transportation costs by direct route between the prospect’s
home and the institution’s campus may be paid. [B 13.6.2.1] If
commercial air fare is used, the fare may not exceed coach (or
comparable) class. [B 13.6.2.3]
2. The institution may not provide an automobile for use by the prospect or
the student-host. [B 13.6.2.2.2]
3. The institution may not transport the prospect by limousine or helicopter.
[B 13.6.2.1]
4. Friends or relatives may not receive cost-free transportation unless they
accompany the prospect at the time the prospect travels in an automobile
to make an official visit. [ B 13.6.2.2.1]
5. Whenever an aircraft (other than a commercial airplane) is used to
transport a prospect, payment for its use shall be at the established charter
rate for the airport where the aircraft is based. [B 13.6.2.3.3]
C. Lodging
A prospect on an official visit shall live and take meals as regular students
normally do. Local commercial facilities may be used but at a scale comparable to
that of normal student life and only within a 30-mile radius of the institutions
campus. [ B 13.7.4]
D. Entertainment
1. An institution may provide entertainment for prospects and the prospect’s
parents (or legal guardians) or spouse. It is not permissible to entertain
other relatives or friends of a prospect. [B 13.7.5.1]
2. All entertainment on the official visit must take place within a 30-mile
radius of the institution’s main campus. [B 13.7.5.1]
3. The provision of any complimentary admissions to the institution’s
athletics events during the official visit shall be confined to the prospect,
his/her parents (or legal guardians) and spouse. Such admissions may
provide seating only in the general seating area. Providing seating for the
prospect, or his/her parents/legal guardians, or spouse in the facility’s
press box, special seating box(es), or bench area is specifically prohibited.
[B 13.7.5.2]
4. The institution may pay the actual cost for reasonable expenses (e.g.
meals, lodging) incurred by a prospect while en route to and from campus.
[B 13.7.5.1.1]
5. Cash may not be provided to the prospect for entertainment purposes
during the official visit. [B 13.7.5.4]
6. A student host entertaining a prospect is governed by the following:
*A student host may be provided $30 for each day of the visit to cover all
actual costs of entertaining the prospect and his/her parents/legal
guardians or spouse, excluding the cost of meals and admission to campus
athletics events. The student host may be provided an additional $15 per
day for each additional prospect the host entertains. These funds may not
be used to purchase souvenirs, such as T-shirts or other institutional
mementos. [B 13.7.5.5 (a)]
*The student host may be provided a complimentary admission to a
campus athletics event sin which the institution’s team plays so he/she
may accompany the prospect. [13.7.5.5 (c)]
*The student host must be enrolled in the member institution being visited
by a prospect. In Division I, a nonqualifer may not serve as a student host
during his/her first academic year in residence. [B 13.7.5.5.3

REEL him in? That is a bad phrase. We are not trying to trick him into attending LSU like he's some sort of sucker.

Posted on 1/14/16 at 10:12 am to Hoodatt
Easy there bro I'm not referring to fishing on bayou, simply saying you have to get the talent here and show them what we have to offer and get them to LSU.

From recruits, although I believe the rule might have changed in recent years....not sure though

I guess after today they'll know whether or not to throw all at Anthony Russo tomorrow. I hope they sway him though.

Are you serious with this comment? It would be an official... which LSU can pay for. You are on a recruiting board and don't know this?
