Alabama seems to be doing ok right now with a freshman quarterback.

Not at Bama, FL St, and many others.

"Many others" is a real exaggeration.

Pump the brakes. Fl st. Has a red shirt frosh not true freshman. It funny when you think about it. With all the 4-5 star guys that came out in 2016, only 4 are starting in the power 5. Georgia, Alabama, Texas, and S.Carolina. Don't see it happening here.

I am not saying he will be the guy from day one. I am a realist. But I have watched him now for 4 years and he has the talent to play qb at any level. I am also quite sure his supporting cast at LSU is a heck of a lot better than what surrounds him at Stanislaus. It takes 11 players to execute a productive offense and stands to reason the better the teammates that surrounds a good quarterback the better the production should be from that good quarterback. I don't care ...

Catfish - we get it. We all like the kid. The kid at Alabama graduated high school at 220. College is a humbling experience. All of the QBs on the roster were either 4 stars, set records, won state championships. All of the existing roster played stiffer comp in HS. You have to get'em on campus and let them compete. Only 4 of the top QBs from last year is starting. 3 because their dual threat. Georgia pro style.

So at best Brennan is looking at 3 guys in front of him next year. Without a doubt Brennan and Narcisse will take red shirts.

We need the depth. I wouldn't mind seeing a Louisville/Houston system in place to make use of the DT QBs legs.

Catfish - I notice you didn't join the board until MB got offered. Are you a relative? If so, let us speak for your kid. We like him a lot. Check out the rant. 99.9% of your posts concern MB. There are other things to talk about re: LSU besides MB. Otherwise we call it trolling.

I have been asked this several times on this board since I joined and I don't mind explaining it again. I am a Stanislaus alumnus, I live in BSL and I attend most everyone of the games. I am close to the program and I am close to some of the coaches on the staff and therefore I get to talk to Brennan periodically. I follow him on social media and I am genuinely interested in his future. We haven't had many athletes like Brennan come out of south MS. Because I am in this position I hear and see things often before anyone else over there in BR. I thought this board would be interested in hearing some of the things that I post about Brennan. BSL has one newspaper and it only goes out twice a week. Most may never hear of some of Brennan's accomplishments on this board if someone did not post them. I thought LSU fans would be interesteded in hearing post and an editorial every once in a while from someone who has real inside info on a player and his situation. If I am posting too much Brennan stuff I will stop. I just thought LSU fans would be interested in hearing some inside scoop about one of their future players.

Thanks. We follow all of our recruits quite closely. The title of this thread goes a bit far. Since you're not in BR, we know more about the depth chart than perhaps in your area.

Honestly wish this board was like others, where there's on thread per recruit. Thanks again

Thanks for your explanation. And you're welcome. BTW: Brennan will break Favre's MS career touchdown passing record Friday night. He only needs 1 more to reach 145 td passes in his HS career and break the record. Thanks again.

I believe you bc I said Arden Key was gonna start early in his freshman season and people called me stupid.

No they didn't. You and everyone else who had seen Mingo said that. Quarterback is a totally different story than DE. If he is great, he gets in the starting line up at the end of the season. Its not likely though.

Brennan is the front runner for 2018. No way he starts next year. Way too many experienced QBs, 2 seniors.

Redshirt him, let him get in a S&C program and bulk up, then release him on the world in 2018. Will really depend on what coach we have too.

MB is going to throw 400-500 per game against MS competition. No knock on the kid, but he plays against trash. I waited all summer to see him vs Brother Martin again. He played solid, but was no diff than I would expect a kid with tools, on a team that's gonna spin it 30-50 attempts a game.

Kid can't help who he plays against. But if MS 4A numbers wise, is like our 3A, 2A, the two incoming QBs will be the only QBs on scholarship to have come from the lower classes. Comp is not the same. Just isn't.

No squad that gives up 8 TDs and 500 yards passing, could be a legit comp. Lots of bubbles and short routes turning in to big plays vs squads that can't cover and can't tackle. I want to see MB in PG. I've seen guys that were ready to take snaps day 1. He is not.

As to 5 star? They usually want to see the unusual everything (including size).

He will have a tough job fighting off Lowell Narcisse. Don't think the job will just get handed to him because of how successful he is in lower class Mississippi high school football. Narcisse plays big boy football in Louisiana, just can't stay catch a break staying healthy. A healthy Narcisse is a dangerous qb.
