Last night on N.O. sports radio, Lee Brecheen and Ken Trahan discussed Randle. Brecheen says Bastrop HC Brad Bradshaw doesn't see Randle as decided but feels it's either LSU or Bama. Trahan says inside three different reliable sources feel strongly that Randle is LSU all the way.

I just hope he at least gives his silent to Miles after this visit, he doesn't have to make it public, just a silent.
God please, the drama is killing me
Missing out on Debose, we really need this guy in our class. We need a true impact guy like Julio Jones, especially with the possibility of TT leaving next year with BL. I think RR is very similar to BL and he could learn a lot from him in one year..except I think RR has more potential. Not knocking BL at all, I think hes a great receiver and probably will be a 1st rounder, just that, RR has a higher ceiling IMO.
I'm at least hoping BL coming back affect's his decision in a positive way. Two guys to take pressure off him and help him develop his Freshman year, one of which is similar in mold. LSU is really successful in developing the bigger receivers for some reason. RR could be a starter his Sophomore year with TT taking the pressure off on the other side. I have a good feeling hes going to explode this year...

North LA wasn't on the map with LSU until Saban. Before and til that time, the loyalists would go there, and only a few got their chance.
Uh, what hole have you been living in for at least the last 50 yrs. (as long as I've been following LSU sports)? Or are you just a few years removed from your mothers womb?
LSU has been getting as many good players out of N. La for as long as they've been getting them from anywhere!
Bonehead dumbass!

how would randle giving a silent commitment to lsu make you feel better? You wouldnt know he did and you would have the same suspense as you do now
Posted on 1/24/09 at 2:04 pm to geauxtigers28
Because the silent would likely leak to someone close to coaching staff

I am starting to feel like he will go to bama. I mean everyone is saying that they think he is leaning to lsu, But have no info to back it up. He has said NOTHING! so what makes peaple think he will come here? Cause we are closer??? So. He might WANT to go out of state. He might be tired of peaple telling him LSU LSU LSU LSU LSU LSU you have to got to lsu, if you dont' blablablabla. I just have not seen any concreate evidence that says he will come here.
People will say we have a better qb, but he has only started two games. I happen to think JJ will end up a all american, but maybe i am a hommer.
lastly sabans recruting taktics. His first year here, he went bananas, signing nothing but 4 and 5 star players from all over louisiana and miami etc. He was not seen as the great coach he is now. SO how does he do it????? I really think he presents himself as a total package anything you want kind of guy, he has alot of nfl connections (albeit miles, brick, crowton do as well), and i worry about the boosters he has behind him.
Have you guys seen what bama has left on thier board???? Insane players left to deciede and choose, and i will bet most go to bama at least more then 50%.
In closing, basically i am worried that the lure he sells thease kids is too much for some of them to turn down, even if it's dirty.
Miles is a great recruiter as well, but when it comes to closing time no one closes like saban. He really puts the heat on and gets who he wants.
I hope i am wrong. Randle is a upstanding young man, and miles is just the same and will be here for a long time. If he goes to bama he will be faced with the possibility of his OC or saban not being there next year. Also, we are just as good or better at developing players fot the nfl as bama is.
I hope in the end maybe he is torn so much that he sticks with the comfortable choice and stays home.

Calm down. I should have said Saban put North LA back on the map of recruiting after the neglect of several preceding coaches. If you talk to the highschool coaches in this area, I think you'll find this to be true. They used to joke that Dinardo had never even been to W. Monroe. I wasn't saying that there hasn't been great talent in this area, quite the opposite.

There have been ups and downs with LSU's north Louisiana recruiting. But Dinardo certainly did recruit in N. Louisiana. Here is the list of N. Louisiana players on the 1998 and 1999 rosters (1999 list includes only those new players not on the 1998 roster) to illustrate.
1998 Roster, North Louisiana Players
Robert Davis, Shreveport
Craig Nall, Alexandria (if you consider that N. La.)
Bubba Alexander, Shreveport
Tommy Banks, W.Monroe
Reggie Robinson, Shreveport
Jeremy Lawrence, Ferriday
Rob Sale, Monroe
Brad Smalling, W. Monroe
Nathan Turner, Farmerville (OCS, Monroe)
Abram Booty, Shreveport
Anthony McFarland, Winnsboro
1999
Bradie James, W. Monroe
Kyle Thompson, Monoe
Josh Booty, Shreveport
Solomon Lee, Bastrop
Eric Edwards, Monroe
Rodney Reed, W. Monroe
John Young, Ruston
