Northwestern tiger posted a new article on RR in another thread:
LSU Tigers' fans awaiting decision by Rueben Randle

I wonder if this thread will make 150 pages by the time it this is all said and done. What's the the TD record I wonder?

Randle commiting will probably break the all time record.

Hey dmitch....I dont know how all this shakes out but thanks for your posts and good luck to your family. Hope your brother's a Tiger if not good luck anyway.

I think having some buddies on the team is going to make a difference in RR's decision. RR's always stressed the 'best fit', and certainly having some immediate friends around helps with that.
He said he's received one call from incoming LSU freshman Russell Shepard, but that neither Downs nor Benton, who works out regularly at the high school, have pressured him in any way.
"Nah, Downs and me talk about real life, not football," Randle said.

good article read that in the paper this morning
And the mood in Bastrop is much more relaxed about Randle than it is in Baton Rouge. Up here, the consensus is he will choose the Tigers, and publicly everyone says whatever selection he makes, the important thing is he and his family are happy......
"Knowing Rueben, who's a smart kid, he'll analyze it and go where he can be successful," said Middlebrooks, who owns a sporting goods store in Bastrop and is the high school's public-address announcer. "I think probably 90 percent of the people want him to go to LSU, and I think, in the end, he probably will."

quote:this goes agaist everthing we have been hearin about him not wanting the atteniton and spotlight.
It feels good to be from such a small town and to get so much attention," he said. "I always knew I was good enough to play at the next top level, but I never knew I'd get this much exposure.

Yeah, "The Rueben" is quite a celebrity in Louisiana. If he was a part of the college football scene a few years ago, his face might have been stamped on our state quarter!

Is there any reference to Rueben Randle coming to LSU in Nostradamus's prophecies?

Yep, that's what I suggested a couple of weeks ago...he's relishing the attention.
I dunno, I just have a bad feeling about this guy.

+1. if you're going to your in-state school, commit early and enjoy the atta-boys. If you're headed out of state, commit early and get harassed by the locals (who currently in Bastrop are 'relaxed' cuz they sense he's going to LSU).
Lesson: if you're going outta state, commit late.*
*see McKnight and USCw.

Well the visit went well and it seems that LSU likes its chances.
I like where we stand peronally.
As far as the attention thing. Of course he's gonna think it's neat for a small town kid to get so much national limelight but as far as really enjoying the attention I don't think that's the case at all.
I think if anything he thought it was kinda cool or neat for awhile but it's gotten to be so ridiculous. There's a freaking sticky thread on an internet message board all about him for example. I don't believe he loves the attention or is an attention freak for one second.

For the love of mike, he's not.
It's not like the McKnight situation. It's not at all. It's more like the Julio Jones situation. He's just gathering all of the information to make the best possible decision.
Nobody's freaking out about Barkevious Mingo right? Well it's just cuz he's "only" a 4 star and he's not at top 5 player in the nation.
Yet Mingo is going to be a Tiger. and I feel personally, Randle will be too. Things are definately swaying in our favor.

Don't worry - I have something that is going to help us get Reuben.
I have decided that if Reuben comes to LSU, I'm going to let him marry my sister.
