He was the second best Louisiana running back I have ever seen. Faulk of course my number one during my high school years and early college.
my dad went to JHHS and I remember watching him in his playoff run around the state. He was so good. I had heard grades were his issue, but man was he incredible to watch.

I was 3 that year but I thought I’d be able to at least recognize a few names that made it to the NFL. I don’t recognize a single name from that list

Ruston had that stacked team that brother Martin beat at Ruston. My grandpa took me and a friend up to north La to go to the game. Best high school game I ever saw. That was the 89 team. Year before in 88 Ruston beat brother Martin in ot at tad gormly on a missed extra point. I was at that game too

Man, these kind of lists take me back. I became a recruiting junkie about 1991. I miss the Forrest Davis and Jeff Whittaker “crootin” magazines. Used to wake up on Saturday morning and head to my convenience store to the The Atlanta Journal and check out the AJC Super Southern 100 list in the sports page. Good times.
