Quarterback. A sports reporter who doesn't know players just have to enter the portal by then. They can still sign after that date.

The portal closing just means no new players are available. LSU could still have the pick of anyone that hasn’t signed with a new school out of the portal regardless of it being “closed”.

Same. I looked him up and apparently he’s been retired since 2002. Dude must have been saving his money, as can’t see that he’s worked since.
Local Nola boy though and a great story. John F Kennedy High (not a good school), to Loyola, to at some point sports anchor for the local NBC affiliate (WDSU).

There’s another window after spring practice. IIRC, the last time we took a spring portal QB he played pretty well.

They do have to be enrolled in school by a certain date to be eligible for spring semester

They do have to be enrolled in school by a certain date to be eligible for spring semester
LSU can sign players up until fall enrollment in August.

I think I saw that piece on the portal on WWL. The reporter was Seth Lewis. But yes, he did misrepresent the time frame for the closing of the portal.
