So if winning a National title equals better recruiting classes, shouldn't we want OU to win this Thursday, purely because of the competition for southern recruits?

......and possibly gets Stoops an NFL job. That would help our cause some, especially with RR!!!

I haven't seen this particular point in this thread thus far: Florida anhilated Ohio State in the '06 BCS CG, and the perception of the SEC being the best conference in football was solidified. Would LSU have gotten in the title game last year if Florida hadn't rolled up Ohio State.

Who knows? But, a Florida victory shows that the SEC produces the best team in college football the past three seasons.

You can forget that! Stoopsie ain't going anywhere, especially the No Fun League!

The ONLY reason I would like to see Zero U win is because of my friends here in Okieville. I'm kinda in a no-win-no-lose situation here because I hate both of 'em . I want Fla. to win because of conference loyalty and Zero U to win because my friends have really hurt the last few years with their failures to win the bowl games. The rest of the dumbasses here I couldn't care less about.

DING DING DING

Tiger attorney also said this. I think most intelligent people agree that it's better for LSU if UF wins. However, they also realize that it doesn't really make that big of a difference.

Pull for who you want, I'm going to watch the game without much stock in it. I'll be happy no matter what the outcome is, I just hope it's actually worth watching.

And whoever said that Stoops is more likely to get an NFL contract if he wins might need to put down the pipe.

as long as OU keeps it within 2 points, or wins, that will have me winning our office pool. really hoping for a good game. with OU saying something to the affect that tebow is 4th best qb, probably added fuel to the fire

It is easier for me to say we got our arses whooped by the best team in college football, than to say we got our arses whooped by the 2nd best team in college football.

Why are ya'll scared of Florida? To be the best you have to beat the best!

I hate OU and will never root against an SEC team in the NCG unless it's Bama.

I have to go with UF here. Since they dismantled us, won't a loss to the MNC look better than a thrashing by the runner's up (if that). Plus, T-Bone is not getting his just due.

Always root for SEC. If they lose then get on their arse. aka USC & BAMA

We have a common border with Texas, and anything that hurts Oklahoma's recruiting is good for LSU--Gators all the way!

As long as the SEC wins national championships, our conference champion will be given the benefit of the doubt when it comes to BCS title game placement. Even if it might not help your team this year, it might next year, or the year after that.

I was pulling for Florida last year against Michigan and I'll be pulling for them again this year against OU. Having pride in our conference is part of what sets the SEC apart.

Exactly. Just ask USC how conference perceptions matter. They were one of the hottest teams down the stretch and it didn't matter cuz their conference is perceived as weak (never mind the PAC 10 went 5-0 in bowl games).

We need our conference to be considered the best and toughest and a Fla win will only further solidify that reputation. Besides, we'll get our shot at another title soon enough and hopefully be the first school with 3 crystal balls!!

But while I will be pulling for Fla., I hate Myer and will not be too upset to see them go down. However, seeing Big Game Bob lose another one would be even better IMO.
