money, i kow i used my brother and mom as an example because frankly thats the best one for me to use.

but lets take them out of the equation for a minute.

there can be some damaging things said on a message board that can hurt your school.

thats all i am trying to say without saying more then i should.

other then miami boards this jis the only other one i post on because of the fact its free spirited. but that does not change the fact that it can be damaging.

i remember a post awhile back saying recruits and family would have to be asked to stop coming here,(not word for word), but i dont remember the exact words.

ok i will leave this subject alone. did not come here to offend or try to make it look like fans on any message board would determine where my brother goes

My buddy as well is a big time Bastrop fan, has freakin season tickets in their "saved" section-roped off and all, never seen anything like it at a HS football game. Anyway, he has not been to confident in the RR sweepstakes. He also said Delo is just as good as RR, if not better at WR. This guy lives and breathes that program, he went to the Manning camp with Delo and Mackey, wanted me to go meet up with them.

i believe things like this should be said. Some people dont understand the power of the internet. People with that little LSU next to there alias dont understand they are representing Louisiana State University.

That's why it is so very important, to just take these forums as hearsay. The posts are 99% opinion, and the 1% comes from family, or the recruit themselves. Even the guru's of recruiting don't really know what a recruit is thinking...One reason being, the recruits that haven't committed early or have a clear favorite, aren't 100% sure of there college choice. Making that choice is harder than most people think. It's exciting to get offers from major colleges like USC, ND, etc. But once the excitement wares off, you have to think about family. Being away from home can be major deals to recruits. Missing family events and being close for sick, or elderly family is important for a lot of people in Louisiana.
I personally feel that recruits should stay away from message boards. There are people out here, just looking to get a rise out of people.

dmitch,

I am very happy that you posted this:

Recruiting is the one area of the board that I wish were monitored more closely by the admins. It's bad enough that some of our "fans" trash the current players, but recruits should be off-limits on some of the crap that's spewed here.

the thing is, its not the recruits who you should be concerned about not taking things hear as only hearsay, or their families.

ok let me lay it out a little further and admins, if i say too much please delete this.

i will use my brother for an example.

an lsu fan says to me on a message board for example, we can get your brother anything he wants, or we have more money then all the other schools.

of course i take it as a joke on a message board.

but the schools dont. they have to call and inquire about these things and this can cause LSU TO HAVE TO STOP RECRUITING MY BROTHER.

I understand what you are saying.

I just hope you understand that this site is kind of a free for all site. It's very, very mildly moderated...I guess by design. That's what makes is fun...but also lends itself to all of the negative comments.

Trust me, it frustrates the LSU fans having to wade through all of the crap. Hell, a ton of the crap is posted by visitor fans posing as LSU fans. You really can't take much of what you read here seriously unless you become comfortable with the posters.

The bottom line is there is no equivalent site like this for Bama and most other schools.

the schools? I doubt any administrative or coaches read these boards. Nor would they take any malicious posts serious. I would hope that recruits stay away, and make there college decisions with a clear and open mind.

ok so they are worried about NCAA violations through a message board. I didnt know that could cause an issue. I hope that hasn't happened, but we all know it is very possible.

Dmitch, Im not trying to dispute what you may already know, or has happen to you. But I didn't realize that could be a issue with a message board. If that's the case, I think it would happen a lot more often.

how do you know it does not happen?

you guys say this board is not policed like others, but do you notice how quixk some threads and post do get deleted.

i commend your admins on how they run this board actually.

they let a lot go so they can have a great board, but they also know when to step in

Well in that case, we are just some poor mofo's here at LSU. I hear the big money is at the Bama, Miami, and OU's of the world.

closes I've been to a recruit, was my high school friend Brandon Mitchell, who played at Texas A&M. So I don't really know how these recruiters come at a kid thats highly touted. Im sure colleges that aren't high in statue or the list...say just about anything to get a edge.

Every school has its segment of poor fans that say bad things about the programs and players they support. I really hope recruits understand that and do not let these people influence their decision.

As far as message boards go, its really impossible to tell if a person is really a fan of or affiliated with the school they appear to be. Recruits should keep that in mind as well. There is no accountability on message boards, so people are more inclined to behave in a more reckless manner than they would in every day life.

You are wrong if you think the schools do not monitor the board. I GUARANTEE you that they do and that the earlier message to THIS board from LSU's compliance officer came specifically in response to certain stuff that had happened on this board with a recruit posting responses to LSU fans. You savvy that?
