anybody know why the sec went back down to 85. it is so stupid and frustrating to me why they woukd do it. I can't think of any valid reason why
it also pisses me off because the other conferences didn't do that though. so agervatijg man. freak greg sankey and the sec office. i would be even more pissed of if I was a coach. you tell me thar we are going to go to 105 a while back and then all of a sudden you pivot and tell me we are going back to the 85 not long before signing day
stupid and it makes no sense and I see no reason
on a side not do y'all think we get jesse harold back into the fold??

You have a stroke writing that?
Anyhow with revenue sharing, fewer scholarships = more money per player. more money per player = more incentive to come to the SEC.
at least that seems like the reasoning to me

The SEC has chosen not to increase their scholarship limit to 105 because they are currently waiting on the final ruling from the "House v. NCAA" lawsuit settlement, which is expected to standardize roster sizes in college football, and they want to avoid potential complications with roster management during this interim period; essentially, they are choosing to stay at the traditional 85 scholarship limit until the new rules are finalized, even though the NCAA settlement allows for up to 105 scholarships per team.

Why is everyone worried about scholarship numbers? Always works out, nervous Nellie.

I just like it a lot because we can keep more la talent at hone and our base
also it wouod be one thing if everybody was at 85 to but I just hate how the other conferences aren't doing it and goijg back to 85 like we are

With the 85 limit to scholarships, what's the limit to roster size? i.e. can they take walk one over the 85?

They don’t want to give up walk-ons, they want 120 players, only 80 who travel…the 105 number, reduction from 120, was for profit sharing…I’m guessing they’ll postpone those payments until after the 2025 season.

Hey Einstein, now we know why you never advanced past the 1st round of the Scripps National Spelling Bee.

Revenue sharing is almost certain to include the entire roster, which is why the 105 scholarship limit increase coincides with a new 105-player roster limit. So I think that your reasoning is incorrect. The SEC has stated that they kept the scholarship limit at 85 because they do not yet know the details of what will be mandated by the House v. NCAA settlement feeling it would be easier to pivot from 85 to 105, adding 20 scholarships, than to trim away from 105 after the fact.

Good point.
