Every committed player between the two schools from the state of Texas that are also holding an offer from both are committed to A&M.
Dan Hunter has an offer from TAMU according to Rivals and Scout. LSU is more interested in a couple of players that are Longhorn commits but the OOS focus this year really isn't in the state of TX like previous years. The focus has turned to several kids from MS. Since Coach Porter left to become HC at Memphis, there was less effort being made in TX. Having Kragthorpe and McGaughey on staff will probably put more attention back into TX once they get into the swing of things.

We rank players like the NFL ranks players with a board of priorities. We should get 3-4 TX kids, 2-3 MS, 3-4 from the rest if the Southeast and other on average years with about 14-15 from LA which are the best 90% of the in-state kids. We seem to be on this about on this track again this year. All is well in recruiting.

LSU board of priorities:
1) Did Nick Saban offer?
2) Did Mike Sherman offer?
3) calf size?

On Texags we worry about ankle size. Where does calf size come into play?

LSU alum in the Houston area.... jobs galore... but locked down.... please tell me thats a joke
I actually agree. UTa made a point on signing Houston athletes last year as a priority. Look for that trend to continue. I think LSU's pipeline to Houston is not as good now as most Tiger fans want to believe.

I think it has more to do with LSU trading NOLA for Houston. Wilson owns NOLA which typically wasn't an LSU hotbed before him. LSU has really made NOLA a point of emphasis.

Got Houston so locked down that LSU offered the two best players in the area.......... and they missed on both of them.... both going to A&M..... LOCKED DOWN haha
Matt Davis
Trey Williams
And Dan Hunter..... never had an offer from A&M.... i think he will be good player though.... the other player from Texas (jalen mills) doesnt even have an offfer by the big boys in Texas....just Baylor.....
just dominating East Texas.... LOCKED DOWN

some of you ppl on here are as delusional as it gets.... Dan Hunter in a no namer in Texas..... no namer.... and you ppl think he's the next coming of Jesus... he hasn't even been mentioned much at all in the recruiting circles in Texas.... not even a top 50 player in Texas.... step away from the kool aid

I'll take Cooper's evaluation of DB's over any Big 12 coach. We have all seen the Poor defenses in that conference, and we also witnessed what Cooper coached DB's do to Big 12 offenses ...
Keep talking.
Keep talking.

rivals
scout
According to the 2 most recognized recruiting sites, Hunter has offers from every Big 12 school except for the Longhorns. He even has offers from OOC BCS schools like Arky and Mich State. According to Rivals he is the #22 rated DE and well within the top 50 in-state. Oh wait, I forgot you guys believe that Luicci's ratings are the most accurate and un-biased in all the internet.
I'd easily take Dan Hunter over any DE in LA not named Torshiro Davis who is likely moving to OLB anyway.

LSU defense is far superior than TAMU defense at every position group except for maybe linebacker. It was evident in the Cotton Bowl and that was WITH Von Miller.
LSU coaching evaluation >>> TAMU coacing evaluation

coldhotwings, don't let the new guy rile you up too much. you've never been much of an Aggie basher before. I hope that's partly because myself, SmokeRing, and AlphaMale have been rational and respectful.
And LSU recruiting has dwarfed A&M recruiting in the last 10 years. Not even close. But the A&M staff evals under Sherman have been money. They had to be since we couldn't cherry pick our players. We have a 2 star WR recruit that is getting All-Conference looks at ILB. We have a couple 2 stars starting in the secondary that are All-Conf caliber. Sherman has been great evaluating talent as a former NFL GM. He just hasn't been able to get a lot of the players he wanted until this recruiting class.
and to my knowledge Danielle Hunter doesn't have an A&M offer. Scout and Rivals just use recruits words of mouth for who has offered them. Looch confirms from within the athletic department who has been offered. And that's not a knock on Hunter. He looks like a great prospect. But we got Michael Richardson very early in the process and that's who our coaches first targeted for that position.
And don't hate on Looch too much. He is the best when it comes to A&M recruiting. Who the ags are interested, who has offers, etc. His state top 44 are in his opinion and he says plenty of times that it varies from our coaching staff's opinion of players. Although our staff's opinion of players seems to affect his rankings of players. As it should as an Ag fansite
(and vest, please behave yourself. this is the recruiting board. this board isn't here for shite talking)

I'm all for talking recruiting without pissing contests and airing of grievances. Feats of strength are okay.

Didn't mean to disrespect the numerous good Aggie posters here. I've lurked on Texags a few times and would hate for that garbage to infect this board. Guys that down maroon kool-aid mixed with whiskey and then bringing bullshite over to tigerdroppings.

Smoke, who's in the sig pic. I thought somebody said it was Jarrin' John Kimbrough but no way there would be a color photo of him, right?
Eithe way, the boots are kick arse. Luchesse makes some A&M boots now that are nice. Better than those Justin boots with the universities on the front

For the first time ever the Aggie brass has that... brass balls. They've stood their ground to UTa two years in a row and watched UTa fold.
We've got a pretty good hand right now. When the time is right we'll go to the SEC.
Just from a personal stand point I wish it was last year. But I'm just a dumb coonass

Did I miss something? I thought Texas fricked everyone in the Big 10/12 whatever the hell you are now.
