Christ this has been the biggest recruiting blue ball in a long time. Lost 3 5*s on signing day plus Burton. Got no surprises either. I think I’m done following recruiting after this...

Recruiting is nothing but fluff. This year once again proved that you would be foolish to follow recruiting outside of signing days

You signed Webb and Dumervil which were previously not committed. I wouldn’t say they were no surprises just not as many as we thought.
Also Arik Gilbert was probably the biggest surprise of any recruit in the country. If he would have did what he did Wednesday instead of a month ago he would be the biggest topic.

And didn't vol say they had 2 or 3 elite running backs ready to commit right when Evans didnt?

Beefing up the lines isn’t going to get you a top 3 class usually, but that’s exactly what we needed and what we got. Aside from getting a RB and maybe another safety, everything else is icing on the cake.
Also, this might be the best overall LB group I’ve ever seen recruited in one class at LSU.

Not to be devils advocate but neither of those players have signed their LOI yet. LSU could still technically land them even though it's not likely. With Burch imo more likely to land than Burton. Georgia clearly has a large recruiting "budget" that we can't match.

Would be pretty hilarious to see LSU send several recruits packing and just whiff on almost all their highly touted prospects to end the class. Karma would be a bitch for telling prospects to look around.

Well, if you followed Evans recruiting don't be surprised if Georgia ended up being the ones getting trolled and LSU ends up with his signature. I wouldn't want to be the one saying he's coming here. Just saying.
That said, this staff sucks at closing on recruits at the end of recruiting cycles. We've been getting torched the past few years come February. Need some better closing going on.
