I have no faith in Alleva and Les is/was a hard headed son-of-a-gun, so I have no way of knowing what went down. I assume in the off season after Les was carried off the field against A&M he and Alleva had a heart-to-heart and it was stressed to Les that he had to change the offense if he wanted to keep his job and Les committed to that. After the Auburn game when it became apparent that he would not Alleva felt he had been lied to and that was the last straw.
Maybe a coach with Les' resume deserved a longer leash but I can convince myself this is how it went down. This allowed Alleva to paint himself into a corner and once Jimbo and Herman said "no" he felt his safest choice was O which may well turn out to be the incorrect choice; maybe if Mullen turns UF around we can conclude he could have done that here, but would we really have been happy firing Les, conducting a coaching search for months and then selecting the MS State coach vs. O/Aranda/Kiffin?

There used to be laws against mentally retarded people getting married. I'm glad we have such an open society now. Although I must admit, the thought of someone with your intellectual capacity propagating your genes is scary.

Wow. You're really exercising those brain cells to come up with insults. Hope you don't call me a poopy head next.

He certainly felt differently than the nail. Just so you know.

Thats kind of what I was getting at. Make no mistake, Miles was the hammer for years. But he faded and we have moved on.

No it's not. He's being paid pursuant to a contract that he negotiated.
uh, you have the same contract (on a much smaller basis). You get let go, and you too will get a check until you find a new job. Miles is no different
So I repeat, true legends simply do not get paid to go away

$135,000 a month for another three to four years makes Les damn different from most coaches in college football these days or tell me another coach getting paid five years after he's let go.

I love les.
TM7 you fabulous fool.
We needed you. Yes, yes, everything changes and we and especially les went from the penthouse to outhouse and think of what could have been.

had spurrier not resigned he probably wouldve been. he turned down the buyout.
and then there is this...
quote:
Bobby Bowden: I Was "Pushed Out" by FSU. Florida State University football team head coach Bobby Bowden, 1999/12/30. "Firedmight be a little too strong," the former Florida State coach said Tuesday in an interview with The Associated Press. ... The coach doesn't act bitter, but he wants to make sure the record is straight
having HCs leave on their own terms in cfb is the outlier.
