Who was the architect firm that designed the West renovation? they completely fricked that thing up compared to what could have been

If there ever is a new Tiger Stadium built, it will not be in our lifetime....and thats a good thing because 90% of the fans that are there now will not come anywhere close to being able to afford tickets....Tiger Stadium only needs major renovations in the bowl....and Alleva knows this.....once this money crunch comes to a halt, watch Alleva do some major ranovations.....and for those of you who think other college stadiums have passed LSU by....take a look at Penn State (erector set), Neyland, Auburn, Fla...blah blah blah....hell Bama STILL has erector set endzones....In the next 10 years....major renovations will take place....just like at every other college stadium....it's not the empty stadium that attracts recruits, its the atmosphere...

I doubt any recruit would choose the Mustangs over any SEC school--just pick the one with the worst stadium. As I said above, I've been to a bunch of stadiums. The notion that anyone is passing us by is a myth.

Also, I don't know of any college that has a retractable roof. Jerry Jones got one, but it cost a billion to build.

All recruits look at stadium wise is the locker room and the atmosphere. I doubt they care how it looks as long as it is shiny and new underneath the stands. Players do not spend that much time at TS anymore since the new facilities were built across the street. That is what the recruits look at.

They are currently planning an upper deck for the endzone.
Replacement is not even on the long term goal list.

Yes. And I think we should build one bigger and badder than the Dallas Cowboys stadium. I think it should be built halfway between Baton Rouge and New Orleans so we can share use with the New Orleans Saints. We can install a supersonic train system to transport fans from both cities. We would petition the federal government (fema) to pay for it because it would also be used as a hurricane evacuation center.
OK. That was my stupid thought for the day!

Alabama is the only stadium that can DEF be said is nicer than Tiger Stadium.
Also, whenever they enclose the South Endzone, some serious work needs to be done to cover up the stilts of the upper decks and return us tho the coliseum look we had and are famous for.

Face it, big time recruits look at things like this.
I don't know why the administration doesn't realize this, considering the scrub recruits we've been getting lately.
On a related note, why would anyone go see a game at that dump, Wrigley Field, when you can go to the state of the art Cellular Phone Field where the White Sox play?

With Bama, Tenn and everyone else having really amazing new state of the art stadiums, sooner or later its going to happen.
1) Bryant-Miles Stadium up in Tuscaloser is NOT new- to the contrary, it is the same old-arse piece of shite bowl that the Bahr hated playing big games in during his time. The difference is that they have spruced the place up and added on to it a few times so that you really can't see the old bowl that the stadium used to be.
2) Neyland Stadium is a hell-hole. The ONLY reason that damned place holds 100,000+ is due to the way the seats are numbered. The seats are clearly arranged for midgets and not for normal, average sized-adults, but when you throw in some of those fat-arse UThug fans then things get REAL tight.
Bottom line is that neither stadium is "new" and I am not sure about the "state of the art" piece either. Both places have done exactly what we have done, remodel and add-on as needed.
Ohhhh, and to answer the OP's question- NO, we do NOT need a new Tiger Stadium. The place is just fine with a few touch-ups here and there. We already have the best stadium in college football, IMO- why change that drastically???

The part of the stadium that the LSU players use was remodled earlier this decade. They have a sweet locker room within the stadium. All of the other football stuff is in the brand new football complex. New weight room, new training rooms, media room, players lounge, and much, much more. I don't think we have any problem with facilities when trying to sign a recruit.

Now...I hate to bring facts into a discussion on this board, but the newest stadium in the SEC in Kentucky's which was built during the second Nixon administration. Every other SEC venue was built (the earlist stages if the stadium of course) pre 1940...with some going back to the teens.
Yes...we'd better get on the ball and take the wrecking ball to Tiger Stadium before everyone else's new stadium gives them recruiting advantages...
Has ANY recuit NOT chosen LSU because of some deficincy in Tiger stadium, either in it's design, lack of state of the art crap, or ambience?

Did they tear down venerable Yankee & Shea Stadiums when they got old??? Huh????
Wait....don't answer that question.

Tiger Stadium will never die, but it needs a serious face lift.

Yes, they should build a new TS, but it won't ever happen.
So, they should renovate all those old dorm rooms into luxury apartments and rent them out for tailgating. That won't happen either.

THe LSU athletic department probably wont do anything to the Stadium until us fans cheer so loud we bring the thing to the ground. Then they will have to build a new one haha

A new TS? HOGWASH! The "newest" stadium in the SEC built from the ground up is at Kentucky, dating from the 1960's. All others are 80 or more years old and have been enlarged. TS only needs another waterproofing in the bowl and the windows worked on in the dorms. Renting the rooms on game weekends would be a major revenue stream.
