2008 defense was awful but at least could stop the run, and the QB was an INT-machine but at least could put up some points. There's no bright spot this year.

quote:Totally agree. Would be ok with a competitive loss. Even to the likes of a surging MSU and a strong Auburn team. But when you factor in the near catastrophe of a Wisconsin game (only the luck of Les pulled that one out) and the MSU near blowout loss made to look respectable only because of Harris' heroics in the last quarter with the Auburn Massacre, you see LSU losing disastrously and in a consistent way. And we are just edging into the meat of our SEC schedule. This is far more serious than growing pains. This is free-fall. None of our coaches seem willing or able to right the ship.
Losing a close game and giving up consecutive 560 yd games is completely different. The former is okay, the latter is a problem that starts from the top.

I am glad that it is going off the rails in a year where player and character development is so critical. Flukes and lucky wins would not have been good for this group of young tigers. Attended lsu from 98-03, saw the whole spectrum and experienced every possible emotion. The difference between then and now is 100% cultural. The culture surrounding lsu has become overwhelmingly cynical and arrogant. STTDB, slandering coaches, players, ppl from the state who decide to leave, etc. it is all additive, we are working at the detriment of our program and building a culture that is not conducive to satisfaction and high level success.
That is the kind of sick, psychotic thinking that religious zealots promulgate.
Losing does not make it easier to win, losing makes it easier to swallow losing.

Yes, I attended USL from 90 to 93.
That's the way I've always seen it listed in bios.

If this had been a home game and we were losing just like we did last night, our wonderful fans would have been booing every player we have, including the starting QB for whom they booed the old starting QB.
It seems as though the very happiness of many LSU fans depends solely on the domination by LSU athletic teams. When we lose like we did, last night, some are on the verge of suicide.

Don't believe you. You bought your LSU t-shirt at Walmart along with your duck dynasty and swamp people bandwagon merchandise.
If you went to LSU, you would have capitalized the abbreviation...

I never like to see a bad season. And this one is pretty painful lately. But I agree that if it results in a shakeout of some of the crappier fans jumping off the bandwagon then there is at least a little consolation.
amen. LSU has always had a bad fan segment tho and likely will continue. the internet gives them "power".
