If you don't believe me, fine. But, without a doubt, Quarterbacks try release the ball as high as possible on short routes over the middle because they want to travel downwards to the receiver.
Has nothing to do with wanting the ball to travel downwards. You release high on short passes to keep them from being tipped.

If I'm constantly wrong according to you then consider me Mr. Knowitall

Absolutely false.
You never want the ball moving upwards on short passes over the middle. It's a recipe for tipped balls and interceptions.

A few degrees difference in incoming trajectory is not what's gonna cause tipped balls. It's the collision off the hands/pads/helmet/whatever that causes the ball to tip up.

Follow-up, segment on ESPN where Brandon Marshall talked about how some QBs throw difficult balls to catch with the nose pointing down so I guess receivers don't like balls with downward trajectory either.

I admire his toughness and grit to hang in there, in a situation where he is talented enough to play, just has not received the mental support from those around him
To be honest, why would coaches want to support said QB with a fan base breathing down their collective necks to axe the guy?

but he felt the pressure and simply threw the ball to where the receiver is supposed to be in the route.
looked to me like he read the 1 on 1 coverage and was throwing when he got creamed from the blindside. I don't think he just heaved it up and made a wish.
but hey, interpret it how you want

Personally I will never forgive Crowton and Miles for massacring Lee's career. The way they handled him his first year was criminal and absolutely murdered this kid's psyche. And it sucks because physically he is Peyton Manning to Jefferson's Chad Pennington.
Also, like someone said, Les and some of Lee's teammates really shoulda been punched in the face for the way they commented on his play to the media.
Regardless of how he performs from here on out and regardless of the pick-sixes he's thrown I still respect him as much as any player on our team. How he isn't sitting in the corner of the locker room at McNeese and crying himself to sleep each night is beyong me. The guy has alligator tough skin.
I just hope there really is an open competition like people are professing. Many lump me in as a Lee-lover/Jefferson-hater and it's not that at all. I just feel like Jefferson has been given the position without really doing anything to separate himself from Lee. I don't care who starts as long as there was an honest competition and someone won.

Hmmmmm. Maybe I am missing a basic concept here. You mean he should hold on to the ball until the receiver has at least 5 yards of separation? That worked really well last year.

This same practice caused a lot of INTs in 2008
FINALLY! You said something I can at least partially agree with. And Byrd (especially), and a couple of times LaFell and Mitchell cutting their routes off contributed to those interceptions. Interesting that a completed pass is viewed as a collaborative effort between the QB and receiver while an interception is put solely on the QB isn't it?

That also doesn't factor in that Hatch played some in the third quarter.

I think all of you should watch JL's last pass vs OM in 2008.
should settle things.

So were basing qb play on one play now?

I was referring to his scaredy cat mentality that many of you accuse him of.

Hey arse-hat, here is the box score from the LSU-UGA game. I was trying to ignore you since you bring nothing to any thread you're in, but if you wanna push me that's fine. Now please go away.
You Suck

I dont understand the reasoning about 4 or 5 posters have that involves tearing JL down to make JJ look better.
Im in sales and its sorta like if all I did during my sales meeting was spend my time tearing competitors product down instead of try to sell my own.
Its sad.

Wait, let me see if I understand this. We criticize one QB of being scared while the other QB unquestionably would not throw the ball unless a recever was WIDE OPEN, had to be taken out of 5 games after being hit, covered up 34 times rather than throw a last second pass out of bounds, and ducked out the back door rather than face tough questions from sportswriters.
Anyone that would question the one QB over the other about their toughness is biased, and should never post in a QB thread again

Although, actually, it was 37 times he curled up behind the line of scrimmage, not 34. And JLee faced the press after every game in 2008, when his teammates, coaches and most of the fans had just spent 3 hours throwing him under the bus. His courage should not be questioned.

This is the point where I finally decided that I'd rather suffer through a young man's growing pains, than put up with this crappy representation of LSU

I am not going to read through all the comments, but will say that I like Lee's attitude and am damn proud to have him as a Tiger.
