If you think any of the things ESPN said are inaccurate, just read through this thread. You couldn't even make it through THIS one without whining about Saban.

Nothing is inaccurate about any of those.
the only inaccuracy is that it implies we're all racist white trash. Not all of us are, but a very significant portion.

Nice thing a bout ESPN is that if LSU beat Bama this weekend there will lots of articles extolling LSU as the birth place of modern football. ESPN is the best at talking outta both sides of their mouth.

USC baby. Prime time job in a prime time market. He would have the media, the west coast recruiting, and the PCC-10 title all to himself. He could build a dynasty there, which just can't be done in today's SEC. If Carrol retires or takes another go at the NFL, Saban will take the job in a heartbeat.

Most LSU fans who talk or post on the subject of LSU act as if ESPN is some monolithic mindset where everyone who works for its various entities thinks, writes and speaks the same. They act as if Pat Forde, who worked in Kentucky for many years, and Chris Lowe, who worked in Tennessee for probably as long, came out of the womb with ESPN in their DNA.
This piece was written by Wright Thompson, who covered LSU for the Times-Picayune, has stayed in touch with Louisiana (since working for the Kansas City Star and ESPN) and knows Ragoo and others very well. I don't think he missed on much in the story. My only quibble is the paragraph that alludes to "ditch-digging" coonasses, which of course Saban never said. Ragoo has been saying "Saban called us ditch diggers!" for nearly two years, but saying someone was working in a ditch and calling all Louisianans ditch diggers is not the same thing.
But Thompson said that's what fans heard, and in that sense I guess I should give him the benefit of the doubt. Most of the fans I talk to say that's what Saban said.
My point is there's no ESPN conspiracy against LSU, and this story is not in any way emblematic of an ESPN point of view about LSU. Mr. Thompson spent enough time on the LSU beat to know of which he speaks, and if he came back on the weekend of the Georgia game to talk to fans directly, I'd say he probably got a pretty accurate take on things.

miles never lost on last play and never lost to anyone he should not have
Going to have to slightly disagree with you there... If you added "in regulation", I might be inclined to disagree. However, we should not have lost to either Kentucky or Arkansas last year, and, as both of those games went into 3OT, there are arguments that we lost it on the last play of both of those games.
However, Miles has still not lost a bowl game or any OOC game, for that matter. He has only lost 8 games in 4 years, 2xFlorida, 2xUGA, 1xTenn, 1xAub (and is, in fact 3-1 against Auburn), 1xKentucky, and 1xArkansas. We have lost 6 games of the 8 overall losses to SEC-E opponents, which is a little embarassing.
If we were to win out and end up ranked as highly as 6th - (unlikely, but still possible), that would still mean that the previous coach (and current Bama coach) only coached one team at LSU that was as highly ranked as ANY that Miles has coached.

1--insecure. how u can call an entire fan base insecure is beyond me. 2-scared? im not--the players arent. maybe nervous about our team not being wht weve got accustomed to, but to be grouped together as simply scared is a joke. 3--hung up on saban? of course--but it has nothing to do with louisiana people being obsessed--its simply our passion and loyalty combined. Few might not get that but try qand think about that one. 4--racist white trash??? hilarious considering he says nothing about bama being that way.. and alabama has the most racist people in the entire world.
this whole article as a legitimate point of whole is bs

I can't stand the bias of ESPN, but I do see that some of the LSU fanatics have become what they hate. That leaves some relevance to their argument. Also these same fans have a way of alienating other people in the state that went to other schools that are LSU fans.

The fans that make LSU look bad have never even so much as sniffed a classroom past the 12th grade (at any university). Hell, I would even go so far as to say past the 9th grade.

Based on what Saban is being paid, I don't see him leaving Bama THIS YEAR. However, at some point, there will be a team out there willing to up the ante and, unless Bama ponies up more cash, Saban's ego would not allow him be the 2nd or 3rd highest paid coach in CFB.
Believe me, he's not ending his coaching career in Alabama.
