Seemed like a fast guy who could run down fly balls.
That being said, we have to get more consistent hitting next year. Have to! This is why he was a defensive sub at the end of the year.

The problem with Kling was he never made any adjustments at the plate. I’m not sure if Jay shares the blame for this but Kling’s 1st strike swing looked the same as his 3rd strike swing. As a hitter, you need to adjust at the plate with many situations, whether it’s moving up or back in the box, closer to the plate, choking up on the bat, shortening your swing, keeping your left shoulder in on the swing and hitting the ball deeper in the zone and to right field. I don’t recall him ever hitting a ball to right field with authority. If he couldn’t do many of those things, his hitting ability won’t change, no matter where he transfers to.

He is a more hyped Gio. He will go to a Duke esque school, start in the outfield and hit .220. He’ll get drafted on intangibles alone, take the money, fizzle out in buttfrick, Idaho A ball, and sell insurance in his hometown.

A good athlete but a poor hitter

Like I’ve been saying, Jay loves a good hitter. If you struggle at the plate your playing time will be seriously limited, doesn’t matter if you’re a defensive superstar. Kling is the perfect example that Jay won’t sacrifice hitting for defense.
