Sad huh? Worse than that is you trying to pass fault to a defense that is still learning the scheme while only giving up 16.75 pts per game and are ranked #21 total points allowed. We are ranked #35 in total defense. Enough said.
Are u a fuking idiot? I'm not saying its defense is the reason we lost.
We have played Wisconsin, Jacksonville St, Miss State, Auburn.
All I said was Auburn moved the ball on us
Wisconsin 56th ranked Offense
Auburn 43rd ranked offense
Miss St 46th ranked offense
LSU 35th ranked defense 16.8 ppg not bad but not dominant like I thought. Maybe I expected too much from them

Heard the convo went something like this:
Then he went back to doing his job.

At the end of the day it's about points given up.
Not completely...at the end of the day, Auburn scored enough point to beat LSU. The defense was extremely fortunate to only give up 5 field goals within 37 yards and a goal line stand. The teams we have left on our schedule will be able to punch the ball into the end zone if given that many opportunities.
No doubt the offense must pull their weight to have success going forward, but the defense needs to shut down opposing offenses at a better clip than they have to date to keep LSU competitive come November for sure.

And I agree with you. However, our D has zero rest time and they are back out there.
That is not exactly true. Auburn had the ball for 32:11 and LSU had it for 27:49.

I'll give you that. If Auburn can move the ball on us like that (granted they didn't score TD's) I hate to see what Ole Miss, Alabama, A&M , Arky will do to our defense.
You can't judge how a defense will fair against a team by looking at how it did against another team. Aranda just got here. Give him time to get his scheme in place. Saban was right about the catastrophe syndrome here. We brought in one of the best up and coming defensive coordinators in the game and people are trying to bash the man after only four games! This isn't the NFL. College students are only allowed to practice so long and going from a 4-3 to a 3-4 isn't something that happens overnight. He has done very well in his limited time here and the defense is far from our biggest problem. Hell, its the best unit on the team.

Comparing it to our offense is that really something to brag about?
Well said post and at least you gave some logic instead of like most on here an acted 12 years old.
Well said.

Les defender strikes again, COULD THR DRIVES BEEN EXTENDED BECAUSE OF ALL THE 3 and outs and the defense getting tired? How about all the TDs the defense gave up? Man that was a killer!
The drives that the previous poster listed were their scoring drives for the entire game. They moved the ball at will. Giving up only 18 pts a game on the road should be good enough to win, but not with LSU's offense the first 4 games. Allowing FGs every possession is a killer. Granted our offense and punting is not helping, but a 3 and out from the defense every once in a while, would help the offense out too by giving them better field position.

Not hardly podnah. That was copied from a previous post in a thread where some idiot was blaming the defense. Although you were indirectly blaming them for giving up long plays and 6 FGs that cost us the game. I thought the paste fit your argument also.

I agree that they need to get off the field. They need help with the offense and special teams to do so. They are in a new scheme in its infancy and have no time to rest or make adjustments when they have to run right back out there as soon as they get off the field. We need to be better....I agree. At this point, this is the strength of the team.

We are much closer in our outlook than the last several posts may indicate. My hope is for all three facets to improve over the coming weeks. I would love to see LSU compete at a high level across the board so each unit can count on the others to lift them up in times of need.

Our offense ran 59 plays and was on the field for 27 mins. 3, 3, 6, 7, 4, 2, 6, 8, 4, 3, 3, 13 those were our offensive drives.

There is not a whole lot of time to rest when 7 of 12 drives are less than 4 plays.
1- 2 and out
4- 3 and out
2- 4 and out

Probably BH fault.
Ah, so that's your hidden agenda in all of this. Guess what. When harris was playing, some, if not most of it, was his fault if you want to get down to the nitty gritty like some of you shw's (social harris warriors) are looking to do. Can or will harris ever get any better? Who knows but he had ample time to shine and separate himself from Etling and he never really did. The only reason harris wasn't benched sooner is because of Les Miles. I'm not a Les Miles basher but I do fault him for not yanking harris sooner and giving someone else a shot. QB's are sometimes referred to as field generals for a reason and harris is no field general. There was a very noticeable difference with the offense and team as a whole when Etling came into the game against Jackson State. And that includes ALL players!
Posted on 9/29/16 at 11:18 pm to boweswi05
Etling is 2 and 1 this season. harris is 0 and 1 and could've possible been 0 and 2 had he not been yanked against JSU.
