I just feel bad for these students. The SEC isn't as good, and they don't have anyone leading them.
I got there as a Freshman and Big Nose and Elle and some other of my homies were already doing the student section hard. I worked the games as a Freshman, then as a Soph, I knew the players and decided to go balls to the wall, too. So we just created chaos down there. Then that continued on for a while, then people started graduating, basketball became not very good, and it's completely faded.
I say some pretty ruthless stuff about the students, but really they're just apathetic. They haven't witnessed some of the moments others of us have. They've had a couple of decent victories, but that's it.
They didn't experience Ohio State 2OT win in '04-'05 followed up by an OT win against Arky. Beating a top 25 UF team, beating #14 Alabama as Ross Neltner tips in Bass's miss as the time expired and the players dogpiled at the free throw line (I was the first to get to Neltner...bonus points if anyone can find a clip of that). It was just an amazing time to be a fan of the basketball program. I want that desperately to return

I camped out back in the '84 season for a North Carolina game. In between the 81 and 86 final 4's. Great memories.

Big Nose and his friend were going HAM last night when TQ told the crowd to get up. That brought back some student section memories.
