K-Mart Champions ? What the hell is Appy State ?
I'm guessing that they meant that App. State won their championship through an actual playoff, where we major schools still use the archaic idea of polls, BCS, etc.

Exactly...all our fans would just stay up the night before drinking.

Boom.
Though, I don't know if it's smart to talk shite to a team who stomped you 24-0 just three small years ago.

One thing IS for sure......we are certainly not going to overlook this game....not a chance. That is something that Meeeechigan had every opportunity to do last year.

Exactly my point. It was a 12 noon start time and up until last season, Appalachian State was about as well known to the average football fan as say, Bowling Green State Universtiy. Nobody cared nor gave Appy State the time of day.
Granted, that came back to haunt them. But, add to that the fact that UM had a horrible D against the spread, it was that D's first game against the spread, a 12 noon start time and the fact that they were completely overlooking Appy State. It all = upset city.
Even with all that, it took a blocked field goal in the final seconds of the game for Appy State to pull this one out.
Again, congrats. It sure made me and my fellow Buckeye friends/family happy, but I just can't see it happening again.

Prior to last year App was the butt of many jokes and while that is largely not the case anymore, they are still a D-II team and will soon be put in their place. Remember this from The Longest Yard?
All right. Relatively simple.
You need a tune-up game.
A tune-up game?
Yeah. In college, we'd start every
season against Appalachian State
or some slack Division II team.
Kick the living shite out of them.
Get their confidence up.
You know something, Paul?
- You've just given me an inspiration.
- That's great. What?

just let them enjoy their time in the light. this is probably the second most publicity theyve ever gotten (under the michigan upset), so theyre just excited that some people still remember who they are. sort of like us in about 2000, except on a larger scale.

Visit when LSU plays an SEC team if you can. Maybe you can treat yourself the following football season after graduation!! (assuming you graduate in May)
