Etling can easily run that offense
Guice>Connor
Canada hides OLine deficiencies. LSU OLine >Pitt OLine.
Bama easily beats that Clemson D with Kiffen calling the plays.
SEC DCs are worried.

but theres only so many formations and sets you can install in the first year of a new offense .
I also watched the Clemson/Pitt game this past Sun. Guess what.....2016 was the FIRST season of Canada as the OC at Pitt. Yes, there's a limit, but that limit appeared to be quite high as evidenced by Pitt in the Clemson game. There's no reason Canada can't do the same thing at LSU this year.
In that game, I was impressed that despite the complexity of the offense (lots of shifts and lots of personnel changes, many of which were rather unusual), Pitt didn't have nearly as many offensive penalties (holding, delay of game, illegal procedure, illegal formation, etc.) as LSU usually had during the Miles era.

This offense seems to be perfect for LSU. It doesn't force the quarterback to be the star and win every game on the strength of his arm. Instead he just moves around in the pocket making reads and distributing balls to his play makers. Unlike our previous offense you can never be sure where the ball is going, and if the D doesn't stay disciplined we'll make them pay. Canada seems to like making one defender make a tough choice with a QB ready to burn them if they get it wrong. Fun stuff.
The jet sweep is going to drive the rant crazy. Seems that more often than not it gets stretched out and gobbled up for a loss, but it sets up a lot of big gains up the middle (runs and shovel passes).

Yea but the QB still has to make all the right reads and throws. Hopefully Etling can do that.
The jet sweep is going to become the new toss dive. Fans and tRant will hate it but it'll get the job done a lot of the time

They'll hate it because they don't understand why it's being used

Alabama has most of the season to watch tape on LSU's offense (as they have every year) .
They didn't need to spend much time in past seasons getting ready to do what they do best- stop the run. This offense gives them too much to consider versus knowing that all they have to do is stack the box and watch LSU run into a brick wall.

A few takeaways from the Clemson upload. This offense is going to be fun to watch with SEC talent running it! All the shifts and motions are confusing to watch but when the play finally comes together it's awesome. Imagining all the options and shovel passes with guys like Guice, Clark, Donte, and JD turning all those plays into big gainers or touchdown! I can't wait till we see this live & in living color in a few weeks!!
Small complaint: Steve Levy is an awful college football commentator

I'm trying to not get too excited. But holy shite
It's hard not to... we'll look like a team on NCAA Football 14 (RIP) instead of Tecmo Bowl

that shovel pass though... to Guice

I love the spacing. So many gaps to hit, and with a RB like Guice, we'll be eating all day.

I live in Pittsburgh now and have been able to get to plenty of games... It's a fun offense to watch and I am definitely excited to see what he can do for the Tigers.

I am excited for the new scheme.
The most interesting thing I saw was right before halftime field goal attempt it took only 5 seconds for the team to get set on the line and kill the clock...

Wow at the motions at :48.
Just hope we can do all this without "too many men in the backfield" penalties.

Guice and Williams are going to be so incredibly good in that offense.

To dream, per chance to score a TD! Ay there's the rub that doth make calamity of the Tiger Offense.
Here's to LSU looking not like LSU at all on offense this fall.

Canada led Pitt to defeat the national champions with an inaccurate quarterback and a porous defense.
This offense looks like it's designed with Etling in mind. Finally have a quarterback with enough brains to make split decisions (if he'll learn to slide) and an offense that can use all the weapons at LSU. This season could get ugly for the haters.

But their Oline doesn't flinch and jump offsides!!!! Please let us be disciplined!
Posted on 8/2/17 at 3:45 pm to geauxtigahs87
That is a very disciplined offense that makes few mistakes. Very un-LSU. If Canada can instill a sense of discipline in LSU players and pull that offense off. Wow. Katie, bar the door. I gotta say that watching that makes me look forward to this season, the first time really since 1/9...
