I'm only suggesting that if Texas A&M and yes, even Texas have looked at trimming some expenses than maybe LSU could actually look into it. I'm not saying we cancel football. LSU's solution is to plug the $20M dollar hole due to paying student athletes by raising $20M in revenues. Well, if that works then fine. But just do a simple google search and you will quickly see there are several major programs looking at trimming costs moving forward.

I would bet a lot of money that LSU has done this. And every other college athletic department...

Of course they are. They all are looking at it. It's not necessarily easy though. Even after Texas A&M cost cutting, they are still going to send more than LSU does before any cost cutting.

2024 Athletic department expenses:

LSU: $218.55 million
Texas A&M: $243.7 million
Texas: $325 million

Do you not remember the massive cuts during Covid to the athletic department. The staff was trimmed down and expenses were reduced during a time hardly any revenue was generated.

we still have to provide women’s sports scholarships.

This is true. You have to give the equal amount of scholarships to women sports as men sports. There in lies the rub. The logical conclusion to all this madness is that there will be LESS sports for MEN & WOMEN on the college level. The current system cannot be sustained. In order to cut women’s sports, you will have to have equal cuts to men’s sports.

and that’s not even getting into the inevitable lawsuit when women athletes get like 1/20 of revenue compared to menZ

of course football make 90%+ of the money
