Preston doesn’t know shite about QBs. Nice guy but he doesn’t.

This. The TigerBait guys spent all of last year telling everyone that Nuss wasn’t injured and he was playing bad because he didn’t put in any work during the offseason. Those guys are fricking clowns.
Didn’t Longstreet just start talking 1st string reps this past week? Regardless, Preston Guy doesn’t know what the hell he’s talking about.
That win against Clemson feels like a million years ago

I’m going to me honest it’s hard for more to take away any bright spots on a week to week basis with how inconsistent this team is

So how does Jay fix it?

He goes out and gets really good players like he has done in the past.
I mean I’m not disagreeing with about Jay but the only thing to take away from the past two weeks is that this team isn’t very good

Have you watched the games?

Yes.
quote:

At least half the games they lost, they arguably should have won. Like Vanderbilt, they have the lead and then Guidry gives up the walk off. They make errors and give up walks and fumble it away. They have one bad inning and fumble away what should have been a win.

How do you determine who “should have” won games?
quote:

I really don’t think the players are terrible, but they are playing terrible.

Interesting. You still didn’t answer why you think they should at least be in the top half of the SEC.

Let me ask you this, how many SEC games have you watched that didn’t involve LSU?
quote:

None of that explains how terrible this team has done. They should easily be at least upper half of the SEC, and they arent

Serious question, why do you believe that? What all does LSU have that other SEC teams don’t?

Remember the idiots who were concerned?

I mean Lane said he was discouraged by how the offense looked last weeks as well… anyways, nothing like someone telling others that they were overreacting to one scrimmage by also overreacting to one scrimmage lol

My belief in a turnaround is growing slimmer. - I still don’t get it- I think they have a ton of talented pieces. A tons of talented arms… but just can’t get it put together. I don’t understand why. I don’t think Pearson is great at 3rd, but he is serviceable. 2nd base- Dardar and Simpson should both be decent enough. Milam is great Braun is getting there. We just can’t put it together consistently. I don’t understand why.

Because everything you just said describes a very average team. You named a “serviceable” player, two players that “should be decent enough”, a great (defensive) player, and a player that is “getting there”

I watch sports for the entertainment value. I always pull for LSU, but a win or loss means nothing to me.

It means enough for you to be posting on an LSU message board.

My life and the lives of my kids and grandkids are not affected by a group of young men playing a sport.

I don’t think anyone is claiming that it affects those things lol
quote:

Simple answer is they missed on everyone in the portal except for Cooper Moore, who has been out because of injury. We brought in players like Simpson, Dardar, Yorke and Caraway - all who were expected to contribute significantly to this team in some way, shape or form and it just hasn't worked out.

I know it’s easy to say that we relied on the portal too much and should be more focused on developing the players that are on the roster, but that’s kinda been bad this year too. 6 of the 8 position players were on the team last year. 2 of the 3 starters, and the majority of the pitching staff is also returning players as well.
quote:

I 100 percent get what he is saying about needing to have his guys developed here over time but......vast majority of the starters are returning guys. Only 2 positions that aren't are 1st and 2nd base.

Yeah I thought the same. We talk about how the transfers are busts, but 6 of the 8 players on the field (if you count Arambide as a catcher) and 2 of our 3 starters were all on the team last year.
I’d imagine he’s job hunting currently. Probably also trying to figure out how he can settle instead of dealing with a lawsuit.

Who? I highly doubt many will. Maybe none.

I’m not saying these guys will leave but the all definitely could: Yamin, Hardin, Cooper Williams, Primeaux, Caraway. Then you always have you wildcard freshmen like Clauss, Patrick, Ruckert, etc. I’d bet at least 1-2 of the people I named leave.

Is it $1M, $2M?

I believe I’ve seen $4 million thrown around but I have no clue how accurate that is

LSU has a strong NIL but jay’s complaint has been about revenue sharing

Has he said that publicly or are you just guessing?
