And what's with the damn pom-poms in the state of Alabama? They love them in Tuscaloosa as well.
They are handy for stirring our drinks....
And I've been using my finger all these years.

Amy, no offense but if you come on this board looking for 'refinement', you've come to the wrong place.
This board is full of college geeks, internet tough guys, hypermasculine guys with hard-ons for anything with tits, and internet bravado.
It's like going to a frat house and being forced to listen to the banter after a keg was polished off in 5 minutes.
It is entertaining!

Watching the game on TV and it was so obvious that the network announcers mentioned it...the AU fans continue screaming even when their team has the ball...duh!

** Auburn has more hot girls than us student wise. Hate to say it, but it's true. Our best looking girls are better, and our older women 25-40 are better looking, but AU girls (students)were smoking.
man i hate to say this but i may have to agree here....WOW >>> SMOKING HOT WOMEN

True story: am4titans almost went to Auburn so he already liked the place before this game.
now for my experience...
The campus is great, but the town is lame. You can count the number of bars on one hand and they're all 21+ to get in. Fraternity houses are impressive and most parties are open and BYOB so that was pretty cool.
Loved the fact that most girls were wearing dresses and looking good. That's going to make it seem like they may have more attractive girls, but the fact of the matter is both schools have lots of good looking girls.
Tailgating was very widespread but way too low key. Most tailgates weren't playing music. We definitely have them beat on the amount of alcohol consumed on gamedays, the quality of food, and the amount of fun we have leading up to games. Their tailgating was 100x better than Bama's though.
The stadium was nice. Sitting in it kind of reminded me of sitting in TS. The lower bowl is just a bit smaller. Their stadium stays very loud consistently, which Bama fans could not do. There were no times when it was deafening though.
Band sucks and so does piping in music during the game. A friend of mine sat in their student section and he said he heard LSU's band loud and clear.
I only had one drunken altercation with an Aubbie fan and it ended with us hugging and saying, "no harm intended, man." Some of their students are just asses though, but that's expected.
Overall, it was a great experience despite bars being 21+. I'll definitely come back in '10. Out of the all the schools I have visited so far, it's the best atmosphere for tailgating and in the stadium. I've yet to visit UF, Ole Miss, UGA, USC, UT, and MSU though.

Never been to Auburn, myself, but let me see if I have this straight:
LSU folks tailgate "better," and tailgating "better" involves being louder and drunker?
Pom-poms are lame. Okay, fine. What do you suggest they do? Throw bottles? Or piss bags?

what's the deal with all these "cutesy" stadiums with hedges and bushes around the field? Sure, it looks nice, but this is smashmouth SEC football! I like how Death Valley just has a chain linked fence around the field. No need for flowers...Hell, we should even put barbed-wire at the top of it. Stadiums aren't supposed to be cute. They're supposed to scare you. At Auburn an opposing player/coach/fan walks up and says "Oh. That's a nice looking bush, I guess." When an opposing team comes to Death Valley they soil their pants while saying "What kind of monsters do they keep locked in there!?"

"Florida rivals LSU in crowd noise..maybe even louder"
No...simply does not. You are wrong.

"Most of their fans were classy"
This was my second trip J/H. The first time was fine until after the game when my car was vandalized by a drunk coed who punched my hood and told me both LSU and Subarus suck. This time I was surrounded by about twenty, incredibly drunk and violent Auburn fans who were constantly threatening violence. They never actually did anything, but they were obnoxious beyond anything I have seen outside of a Liverpool soccer match.

NOT like ours. they're band doesn't get um fired up they're fking jumbo-tron does. all most of um do is sit turned around watchin that thing while they blare very loud terrible music and try to get on the screen btwn plays. not knockin um on purpose but its pretty gay...

Yeah heard that. The point was that the crowd noise when AU had the ball was messing the Auburn players up in hearing the snap count.
